Blow the trumpet in Zion; proclaim on my holy mountain, and let all the inhabitants of the land be confounded, for the day of the Lord is present, because it is near.
a day of darkness and gloom, a day of cloud and mist; like dawn, a great and strong people will be poured out upon the mountains; one like it has not been since the age, and after it there will not be added to it for years to generations of generations
Before him a devouring fire, and behind him a flaming blaze; the land before his face is like a garden of delight, and behind him a field of destruction, and the one who escapes will not be to him
like the sound of chariots on the tops of the mountains they leap, and like the sound of a flame of fire devouring stubble, and like a many and strong people drawn up for war
Like warriors they will run and like men of war they will climb upon the walls, and each will go in his own way, and they will certainly not turn aside from their paths.
And each from his brother will not withdraw; being weighed down in their weapons they will go, and in their arrows they will fall, and they shall by no means be finished.
Before their face the earth shall be shaken, and the heaven shall be shaken; the sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their brightness.
And the Lord shall give his voice before the face of his power, because his camp is very great, because his words are mighty in deeds; for great is the day of the Lord, great and exceedingly manifest, and who shall be sufficient for it?
And tear your hearts, and not your garments, and turn back to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, long-suffering and very merciful, and repenting over the evils.
Gather the people, sanctify an assembly, choose elders, gather infants sucking breasts; let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, and the bride from her bridal room.
Between the vestibule and the altar the priests, those ministering to the Lord, will weep and say: Spare, O Lord, your people, and do not give your inheritance over to reproach, for the nations to rule over them, so that they may not say among the nations, Where is their God?
And the Lord answered and said to his people, Behold, I am sending out to you the grain and the wine and the oil, and you shall be filled with them, and I will no longer give you as a reproach among the nations.
And the one from the north I will drive out from among you, and I will cast him out into a waterless land, and I will make his face disappear into the first sea, and his rear into the last sea, and his rottenness will go up, and his stench will go up, because he has magnified his works.
Be of good courage, beasts of the field, for the fields of the wilderness have sprung up; for the tree has borne its fruit, the vine and the fig tree have given their strength.
And children of Zion, rejoice and be glad in the Lord your God, because he has given you the foods for righteousness, and he will rain upon you the early and the latter rain, as before.
And I will recompense to you for the years that the locust, and the cankerworm, and the mildew, and the caterpillar devoured, my great power which I sent against you
And you shall eat, eating, and you shall be filled, and you shall praise the name of the Lord your God, who has done wonders with you, and my people shall by no means be put to shame forever.
And you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and I am the Lord your God and there is no longer anyone besides me, and my whole people shall not be put to shame anymore forever.
