And Joshua son of Nun sent from Shittim two young men to spy out, saying, Go up and see the land and Jericho. And the two young men went and entered into Jericho, and they entered into the house of a prostitute woman whose name was Rahab, and they lodged there.
And the king of Jericho sent and said to Rahab, saying, Bring out the men who have gone into your house tonight, for they have come to spy out the land.
and as the gate was being shut in the darkness, and the men went out, I do not know where they have gone; pursue after them, if you will overtake them.
And the men pursued after them the way toward the Jordan, at the crossings; and the gate was shut, and it happened as the pursuers went out after them.
For we have heard that the Lord God dried up the Red Sea from before you when you were going out from the land of Egypt, and what he did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.
And when we heard, our heart was beside itself, and there was no longer any spirit in any one of us because of your face, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below
and you shall preserve alive the house of my father and my mother and my brothers and all my house and all that is theirs, and you shall deliver my life from death
And the men said to her, Our life for your life, unto death. And she said, When the Lord should give the city over to you, you shall do mercy and truth toward me.
And she said to them, Go into the hill country, lest those pursuing meet you, and you shall hide there three days until those pursuing turn back after you; and after these things you shall go on your way.
Behold, we are entering into a part of the city, and you shall put this sign, the scarlet cord, you shall let down into the window through which you brought us down, and you shall gather your father and your mother and your brothers and all the house of your father to yourself into your house
And it shall be that everyone who shall go out the door of your house outside shall be guilty for himself, and we shall be innocent of this your oath; and as many as may become with you in your house, we shall be guilty.
And the two young men returned and went down from the mountain and crossed over to Jesus son of Nave and reported to him all the things that had happened to them.
