And it came to pass after the death of Joshua, and the sons of Israel inquired of the Lord, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanite, leading to wage war against him?

And the Lord said, Judah shall go up; behold, I have given the land into his hand.

And Judah said to Simeon his brother, Go up with me into my lot, and let us fight against the Canaanite, and I also will go with you into your lot. And Simeon went with him.
