And the sons of Israel continued to do evil before the Lord, and Ehud died.
And the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor, and the commander of his force, Sisera; and he himself lived in Harosheth of the nations.
And the sons of Israel cried out to the Lord, because there were nine hundred iron chariots for him, and he oppressed Israel with force for twenty years.
And Deborah, a woman, a prophetess, a woman of Lappidoth, she judged Israel at that time
And she was sitting under Deborah’s palm between Ramah and between Beth-el in the hill country of Ephraim, and the sons of Israel were going up to her for judgment.
And Deborah sent and called Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh of Naphtali, and said to him, Did not the Lord the God of Israel command you, and you shall go to Mount Tabor and take with yourself ten thousand men from the sons of Naphtali and from the sons of Zebulun?
and I will bring to you to the torrent Kishon Sisera, commander of Jabin’s force, and his chariots and his multitude, and I will give him into your hands
And Barak said to her, If you go with me, I will go; and if you do not go, I will not go, because I do not know the day on which the Lord prospers the angel with me.
And she said, Going I will go with you; only know that your preeminence will not be on the way on which you are going, because into the hand of a woman the Lord will deliver Sisara. And Debbora arose and went with Barak from Kadesh.
And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali out from Kadesh, and ten thousand men went up at his feet, and Deborah went up with him
And Heber the Kenite separated from Cain, from the sons of Hobab, the father-in-law of Moses, and he pitched his tent as far as the oak of the exploiters, which is near Kedesh
And it was reported to Sisara that Barak son of Abineem had gone up to Mount Thabor.
And Sisara called together all his chariots, nine hundred iron chariots, and all the people with him, from Arisoth of the nations, to the brook Kishon.
And Debbora said to Barak, Rise up, for this is the day in which the Lord has delivered Sisara into your hand, for the Lord will go out before you. And Barak went down from Mount Thabor, and ten thousand men after him.
And the Lord threw Sisera and all his chariots and all his camp into confusion before Barak by the edge of the sword, and Sisera dismounted from off his chariot and fled on foot.
And Barak pursued after the chariots and after the camp as far as Harosheth of the nations, and all the camp of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword; not one was left.
And Sisara fled on his feet to the tent of Jael, wife of Haber, the companion of the Kenite, because there was peace between Jabin king of Asor and between the house of Haber the Kenite.
And Jael went out to meet Sisera and said to him, Turn aside, my lord, turn aside to me; do not fear. And he turned aside to her into the tent, and she covered him with a mantle.
And Sisara said to her, Give me, please, a little water, for I am thirsty. And she opened the skin of milk and gave him drink and covered him.
And Sisera said to her, Stand now at the door of the tent, and it shall be, if a man comes to you and asks you and says, Is there a man here? then you shall say, There is not.
And Jael, the wife of Heber, took the tent peg and put the hammer in her hand and went in to him in secret and drove the peg into his temple, and it went through into the ground, and he, being in a trance, was darkened and died.
And behold, Barak was pursuing Sisara, and Jael came out to meet him and said to him, Come, and I will show you the man whom you are seeking; and he went in to her, and behold, Sisara was lying dead, and the tent peg was in his temple.
And God subdued Jabin king of Canaan on that day before the sons of Israel
And the hand of the sons of Israel went on going and growing hard upon Jabin king of Canaan until they utterly destroyed Jabin king of Canaan
