And Korah son of Izhar son of Kohath son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, sons of Eliab, and On son of Peleth son of Reuben, spoke.

and there rose up before Moses two hundred and fifty men of the sons of Israel, leaders of the congregation, assembled of counsel, and men of renown

They rose up against Moses and Aaron and said, Let it be enough for you, because all the congregation are all holy, and the Lord is among them; and why do you lift yourselves up over the congregation of the Lord?

And Moses, when he heard it, fell on his face

And he spoke to Korah and to all his congregation, saying, God has visited and known those who are his and the holy ones, and he has brought them near to himself; and those whom he chose for himself he has brought near to himself.

Do this: take for yourselves censers, Korah and all his congregation.

and put fire on them and put incense on them before the Lord tomorrow, and the man whom the Lord shall choose, he shall be holy. Let it be enough for you, sons of Levi.

And Moses said to Kore, Hear me, sons of Levi.

Is this too small a thing for you, that God of Israel has separated you from the assembly of Israel and brought you near to himself to minister the services of the tent of the Lord and to stand before the assembly, to serve them?

and he brought you near, and all your brothers, the sons of Levi, with you, and you seek to serve as priests

Thus you and all your congregation, who have gathered together against God, and Aaron—what is he, that you complain against him?

And Moses sent to summon Dathan and Abiron, sons of Eliab, and they said, We are not going up.

Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness, that you also rule over us as ruler?

Even if you had brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey and had given us an inheritance of field and vineyards, would you have even cut out the eyes of those men? We do not go up.

And Moses was very grieved and said to the Lord, Do not pay heed to their sacrifice; I have not taken the desire of any one of them, nor have I wronged any of them.

And Moses said to Korah, Sanctify your congregation, and be ready before the Lord, you and they and Aaron, tomorrow.

And let each man take his censer, and put incense upon them, and bring before the Lord each man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers, and you and Aaron, each his censer.

And each took his censer, and they put fire on them and laid incense on it, and they stood beside the doors of the tent of testimony, Moses and Aaron

And Kore assembled against them his whole congregation at the door of the tent of the testimony, and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the congregation.

And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying

Separate yourselves from the midst of this congregation, and I will consume them in a moment

And they fell on their faces and said, O God, God of the spirits and of all flesh, if one man sinned, is the wrath of the Lord upon all the congregation?

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying

Speak to the congregation, saying, Withdraw yourselves around from the congregation of Korah

And Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiron, and all the elders of Israel went with him.

And he spoke to the assembly, saying, Separate yourselves from the tents of these hard men, and do not touch anything that is theirs, lest you be destroyed together in all their sin.

And they departed from the tent of Korah round about; and Dathan and Abiron came out and were standing by the doors of their tents, and their wives and their children and their baggage.

And Moses said, By this you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, that it is not from myself.

if by the death of all men these shall die, and if by the visitation of all men there shall be a visitation of them, has not the Lord sent me?

but if the Lord should show by a manifestation, and the earth, opening its mouth, will swallow them and their houses and their tents and all that is theirs, and they shall go down alive into Hades, then you shall know that these men have provoked the Lord.

And as he finished speaking all these words, the earth burst open beneath them

And the earth was opened and swallowed them and their houses and all the men who were with Kore and their livestock

And they went down, they and all that was theirs, alive, into Hades, and the earth covered them, and they perished from the midst of the congregation

And all Israel, those around them, fled from their voice, because they were saying, Lest the earth swallow us up also.

And fire went out from the Lord and devoured the two hundred and fifty men who were offering the incense
