and for Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest lift up the bronze fire-pans from among those who have been burned and scatter this strange fire there, because they were holy
the fire-pans of these sinners in their souls, and make them beaten sheets, a covering for the altar, because they were offered before the Lord and were sanctified, and they became a sign for the sons of Israel
And Eleazar son of Aaron the priest took the bronze censers, which those who were burned had offered, and they added them as a covering for the altar.
a memorial for the sons of Israel, so that no foreigner, who is not from the seed of Aaron, may approach to put incense before the Lord; and he shall not be like Korah and his band, as the Lord spoke by the hand of Moses
And the sons of Israel murmured on the next day against Moses and Aaron, saying, You have killed the people of the Lord.
And it came to pass, when the congregation gathered together against Moses and Aaron and rushed against the tent of witness, that the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.
And Moses and Aaron entered in front of the tent of witness
And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying
Depart from the midst of this assembly, and I will consume them in a moment; and they fell on their faces.
And Moses said to Aaron, Take the censer and put on it fire from the altar, and cast incense on it, and take it quickly into the camp and make atonement for them, for wrath has gone out from before the Lord; the plague has begun to break the people.
And Aaron took, just as Moses spoke to him, and ran into the assembly, and already the plague had begun among the people, and he put on the incense and made atonement for the people
And he stood between the dead and the living, and the plague ceased.
And those who died in the breaking were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, apart from those who died on account of Korah
And Aaron returned to Moses at the door of the tent of the testimony, and the breaking ceased
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying
Speak to the sons of Israel, and take from them a staff, a staff according to the houses of the tribes, from all their rulers according to the houses of their tribes, twelve staffs, and write each one’s name on his staff.
and the name of Aaron you shall write upon the rod of Levi; for there is one rod for a tribe, according to the house of their fathers; they shall give it
And you shall put them in the tent of the testimony, before the testimony, in which I shall make myself known to you there.
And the man whom I may choose, his rod shall bud, and I will remove from me the murmuring of the sons of Israel, which they themselves murmur against you.
And Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and all their leaders gave him a rod, one rod for each leader, by households of their fathers, twelve rods; and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.
And Moses laid up the rods before the Lord in the tent of witness
And it happened on the next day that Moses and Aaron went into the tent of the testimony, and behold, Aaron’s rod for the house of Levi had sprouted, and it brought forth a shoot and blossomed blossoms and bore ripe almonds.
And Moses brought out all the rods from before the Lord to all the sons of Israel, and they saw, and each one took his rod.
And the Lord said to Moses: Put down Aaron’s rod before the testimonies, for preservation, as a sign for the sons of the disobedient, and let their murmuring cease from me, and they shall not die.
And Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded Moses; so they did.
And the sons of Israel said to Moses, saying, Behold, we are consumed, we have perished, we are utterly destroyed.
Everyone who touches the tent of the Lord dies; until we die completely.
