the fire-pans of these sinners in their souls, and make them beaten sheets, a covering for the altar, because they were offered before the Lord and were sanctified, and they became a sign for the sons of Israel

a memorial for the sons of Israel, so that no foreigner, who is not from the seed of Aaron, may approach to put incense before the Lord; and he shall not be like Korah and his band, as the Lord spoke by the hand of Moses

And it came to pass, when the congregation gathered together against Moses and Aaron and rushed against the tent of witness, that the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.

And Moses said to Aaron, Take the censer and put on it fire from the altar, and cast incense on it, and take it quickly into the camp and make atonement for them, for wrath has gone out from before the Lord; the plague has begun to break the people.

Speak to the sons of Israel, and take from them a staff, a staff according to the houses of the tribes, from all their rulers according to the houses of their tribes, twelve staffs, and write each one’s name on his staff.

And Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and all their leaders gave him a rod, one rod for each leader, by households of their fathers, twelve rods; and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.

And it happened on the next day that Moses and Aaron went into the tent of the testimony, and behold, Aaron’s rod for the house of Levi had sprouted, and it brought forth a shoot and blossomed blossoms and bore ripe almonds.

And the Lord said to Moses: Put down Aaron’s rod before the testimonies, for preservation, as a sign for the sons of the disobedient, and let their murmuring cease from me, and they shall not die.
