1
And the Lord said to Aaron, saying: You and your sons and the house of your father’s lineage shall bear the sins of the holy things, and you and your sons shall bear the sins of your priesthood.
2
And bring near to yourself your brothers, the tribe of Levi, the clan of your father, and let them be added to you and let them minister to you; and you and your sons with you, before the tent of testimony.
3
And they shall keep your guard, and the guard of the tent, except toward the holy vessels and toward the altar they shall not approach, so that they do not die, both they and you.
7
And you and your sons with you shall keep your priesthood in every way of the altar and the inner part of the veil, and you shall perform the services as a gift of your priesthood, and the alien who draws near shall die
8
And the Lord spoke to Aaron, and I, behold, have given you the keeping of the firstfruits from all the things consecrated to me by the sons of Israel; to you I have given them as a gift, and to your sons after you, an eternal ordinance.
9
And this shall be for you from the most holy things of the offerings, from all their gifts and from all their sacrifices and from all their offenses and from all their sins, as many as they return to me; from all the holy things it shall be for you and for your sons.
11
And this shall be to you a firstfruits of their gifts from all the offerings of the sons of Israel; to you I have given them, and to your sons and to your daughters with you, an everlasting statute; everyone clean in your house shall eat them.
15
And every one opening a womb from all flesh, which they bring near to the Lord, from man to beast, shall be yours; but the firstborn of men and the firstborn of unclean beasts you shall redeem with a ransom.
17
Only the firstborn of calves and the firstborn of sheep and the firstborn of goats you shall not redeem; they are holy, and their blood you shall pour out beside the altar, and their fat you shall offer up as a burnt offering for a sweet smell to the Lord
19
Every contribution of the holy things, as much as the sons of Israel may take away, I have given to you and to your sons and to your daughters with you, as an everlasting statute; it is a covenant of salt forever before the Lord, for you and for your seed after you.
20
And the Lord spoke to Aaron in their land: You shall not inherit, and there shall not be a portion for you among them, because I am your portion and your inheritance in the midst of the sons of Israel
23
And the Levite himself shall minister the ministry of the tent of testimony, and they themselves shall receive their sins; an everlasting statute for their generations, and among the sons of Israel they shall not inherit an inheritance.
24
For the tithes of the sons of Israel, as many as they may set apart to the Lord, I have given as a heave offering to the Levites as an allotment; therefore I have said to them, among the sons of Israel they shall not inherit an inheritance.
26
And you shall speak to the Levites and say to them: If you receive from the sons of Israel the tithe that I have given you from them as your inheritance, then you shall take off from it a heave offering to the Lord, a tithe from the tithe.
28
Thus you also shall take away from the offerings of the Lord, from all your tithes, whatever you may receive from the sons of Israel, and you shall give from them an offering to the Lord, to Aaron the priest.
