Let my utterance be awaited like rain, and let my words come down like dew, like showers on grass and like snow on hayward grassness
For I have called on the name of the Lord; give greatness to our God.
God, true are his works, and all his ways are judgment; a faithful God, and there is no injustice; righteous and holy is the Lord.
They sinned, not against him, children worthy of blame, a crooked and perverse generation
Do you repay the Lord these things, so, a foolish and not wise people? Is not he himself your father, who acquired you and made you and created you?
Remember the day of old, understand years of generation of generations; ask your father, and he will tell you, your elders, and they will say to you
When the Most High divided the nations, when he scattered the sons of Adam, he set the boundaries of the nations according to the number of the angels of God.
And his people Jacob became the portion of the Lord, Israel the allotment of his inheritance.
He satisfied him in the wilderness, in thirst of heat; in a waterless place he encircled him and instructed him and guarded him as the pupil of the eye
As an eagle to cover his nest, and over his young he longed, spreading his wings; he received them and took them up on his back
The Lord alone was leading them, and there was no alien god with them.
He brought them up to the strength of the land; he fed them the produce of fields; they sucked honey out of a rock and oil from a hard rock.
Butter of cows and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs and rams, sons of bulls and goats, with fat of kidneys of wheat, and the blood of the grape they drank wine.
And Jacob ate and was filled and kicked; the beloved grew fat, grew thick, grew broad, and he abandoned God who made him and departed from God his savior.
They provoked me over foreign things; in their abominations they made me bitter.
They sacrificed to demons and not to God, to gods whom they had not known, new and freshly come, whom their fathers had not known.
You have forsaken God who begot you, and you have forgotten God who nourishes you.
And the Lord saw and was jealous and was provoked to anger because of the anger of his sons and daughters
And he said, I will turn my face away from them and will show what will be to them in the last times, because it is a twisted generation, sons in whom there is no faithfulness in them
They made me jealous with what is not God, they provoked me with their idols; and I will make them jealous with what is not a nation, with a foolish nation I will provoke them.
For fire has been kindled from my wrath; it shall burn to the lowest Hades, it shall devour the earth and its produce, and it shall blaze the foundations of the mountains.
I will gather evils upon them, and I will finish my arrows upon them
wasting away by famine and by the eating of birds, and incurable tetanus; I will send on them the teeth of beasts, with wrath, dragging them upon the earth
Outside the sword shall bereave them of children, and from the chambers fear, the young man together with the virgin, the suckling with the one who has set down, the elder.
I said, I will scatter them; indeed I will make their memorial cease from among men.
if not through the anger of enemies, so that they should not grow long in time and so that the adversaries should not join attack, lest they say, Our hand is high, and not the Lord made all these things
For a nation that has lost counsel is it, and there is no knowledge among them
They did not think to understand these things; let them accept them for the coming time.
How will one pursue a thousand, and two will remove myriads, if God did not sell them and the Lord delivered them up?
For their gods are not as our God; but our enemies are foolish
For their vine is from the vine of Sodom, and their tendril from Gomorrah; their grape is a grape of gall, their cluster of bitterness for them.
Their wine is the rage of dragons, and the rage of asps is incurable.
Behold, have not all these things been gathered with me and sealed in my treasuries?
In a day of vengeance I will repay, at a time when their foot may slip; for near is the day of their destruction, and things prepared are at hand for you
For the Lord will judge his people, and he will be comforted over his servants, for he saw them weakened and failing under oppression and relaxed in spirit.
And the Lord said, Where are their gods, on whom they had trusted in them?
whose the fat of their sacrifices you ate and drank the wine of their drink offerings, let them rise up and help you, and let them become protectors for you
See, see that I am, and there is no God besides me. I will kill, and I will make alive; I will strike, and I will heal; and there is no one who will deliver out of my hands.
For I will lift up my hand to heaven, and I will swear by my right hand, and I will say, I live forever.
For I will sharpen my sword like lightning, and my hand will hold fast judgment, and I will repay vengeance to my enemies, and to those who hate me I will repay
I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh, from the blood of the wounded and of captivity, from the head of leaders of nations
Rejoice, O heavens, with him, and let all the angels of God worship him; rejoice, O nations, with his people, and let all the sons of God strengthen him, because the blood of his sons is avenged, and he will avenge and will requite justice to the enemies, and to those who hate he will requite, and the Lord will cleanse the land of his people.
