I said, I shall no longer, no, not at all, see the salvation of God on the earth; I shall no longer, no, not at all, see man among those dwelling.
ἐκ τῆς συγγενείας μου κατέλιπον τὸ λοιπὸν τῆς ζωῆς μου ἐξῆλθεν καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ἀπ᾿ ἐμοῦ ὥσπερ ὁ καταλύων σκηνὴν πήξας τὸ πνεῦμά μου παρ᾿ ἐμοὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἱστός ἐρίθου ἐγγιζούσης ἐκτεμεῖν
They failed from my kindred; they left the rest of my life; it went out and departed from me like one dismantling a tent after pitching it. My spirit became with me as the web of a weaver nearing to cut.
τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ παρεδόθην ἕως πρωὶ ὡς λέοντι οὕτως συνέτριψεν πάντα τὰ ὀστᾶ μου ἀπὸ γὰρ τῆς ἡμέρας ἕως τῆς νυκτὸς παρεδόθην
On that day I was given over until morning; like a lion, so he crushed all my bones, for from day until night I was given over
χελιδών οὕτω φωνήσω καὶ ὡς περιστερά οὕτω μελετήσω ἐξέλιπον γὰρ οἱ ὀφθαλμοί μου τοῦ βλέπειν εἰς τὸ ὕψος τοῦ οὐρανοῦ πρὸς τὸν κύριον
Like a swallow, so will I cry out, and like a dove, so will I meditate; for my eyes have failed from looking toward the height of heaven to the Lord
who delivered me and took away from me the pain of my soul
Lord, for concerning her it was reported to you, and you raised up my breath, and, having been encouraged, I lived
For you chose my life so that it should not perish, and you cast behind me all my sins.
γὰρ οἱ ἐν ᾅδου αἰνέσουσίν σε οὐδὲ οἱ ἀποθανόντες εὐλογήσουσίν σε οὐδὲ ἐλπιοῦσιν οἱ ἐν ᾅδου τὴν ἐλεημοσύνην σου
For not those in Hades will praise you, nor will the dead bless you, nor will those in Hades hope for your mercy.
ζῶντες εὐλογήσουσίν σε ὃν τρόπον κἀγώ ἀπὸ γὰρ τῆς σήμερον παιδία ποιήσω ἃ ἀναγγελοῦσιν τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου κύριε τῆς σωτηρίας μου
Those who are living will bless you, as I also; for from today I will make children who will proclaim your righteousness, O Lord of my salvation
and I will not cease blessing you with a psaltery all the days of my life before the house of God
