The Koine Bible

Lord Almighty, the God of our fathers, of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and of their righteous offspring

the one who made the heaven and the earth with all their world

who bound the sea by the word of your command, who shut up the abyss and sealed it with your fearful and glorious name

whom all things shudder and tremble before the face of your power

for the magnificence of your glory is irresistible, and the wrath of your threat against sinners is unendurable

and immeasurable and unsearchable is the mercy of your promise

For you are the Lord Most High, compassionate, long-suffering, and very merciful, and repenting over the evils of men

Therefore you, O Lord, the God of the righteous, did not appoint repentance for the righteous, for Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, those who have not sinned against you, but you appointed repentance for me, the sinner.

For I have sinned beyond the number of the sand of the sea; my lawless deeds have multiplied, Lord, they have multiplied, and I am not worthy to gaze and to see the height of heaven, because of the multitude of my injustices.

bent down by a great chain of iron so as to nod to me because of my sins, and there is no relief for me, because I provoked your wrath and did the evil before you, setting up abominations and multiplying detestable things

And now I bend the knee of my heart, beseeching the kindness that is from you.

I have sinned, O Lord, I have sinned, and my lawless deeds I myself know.

I ask, begging you, pardon me, Lord, pardon me; do not destroy me together with my lawless deeds, nor, being wrathful forever, keep the evils for me, nor condemn me in the lowest parts of the earth, because you are, Lord, the God of those who repent

and in me you will show your goodness, because being unworthy you will save me according to your abundant mercy

and I will praise you continually all the days of my life, because all the power of the heavens hymns you, and yours is the glory unto the ages, amen
