To know wisdom and instruction, and to understand words of prudence.
to receive twists of words, and to perceive true righteousness and to direct judgment rightly
so that he may give shrewdness to the simple, and to a young child perception and understanding
For by hearing these things, a wise man will become wiser, and the prudent will acquire guidance.
will understand both a parable and a dark saying, the sayings of the wise and riddles
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and good understanding to all who do it; but piety toward God is the beginning of perception; but wisdom and discipline the ungodly will despise.
Hear, my son, your father’s discipline, and do not reject your mother’s precepts.
For you will receive a crown of graces on your head and a golden necklace around your neck
My son, let ungodly men not lead you astray, and do not desire it if they exhort you, saying:
Come with us, share in blood; and let us hide a righteous man unjustly in the earth.
Let us swallow him down alive like Hades and let us remove his memory from the earth
let us seize his costly property; let us fill our houses with plunder
But cast your lot in among us; let us all acquire one common purse, and let one pouch become for us a single one.
Do not go in the way with them; but turn aside your foot from their paths.
For their feet run to evil, and they are swift to shed blood
For a net is not spread in vain for winged creatures.
For they themselves, those sharing in murder, store up evils for themselves, and the destruction of lawless men is evil
Such are the ways of all who accomplish lawless things; for by impiety they take away their own life.
Wisdom is praised in the exits, and in the broad places she leads boldness.
At the top of the walls she is proclaimed, and at the gates of rulers she sits beside, and at the gates of the city she confidently says
How long shall the innocent hold fast to righteousness? They shall not be put to shame, but the foolish, being desiring insolence, having become ungodly, have hated understanding.
And they became accountable to rebukes; behold, I will release to you a saying of my breath, and I will teach you my word.
Because I was calling and you did not obey, and I stretched out words and you did not pay attention
But you were making my counsels void, and you disobeyed my reproofs.
Therefore I also will laugh at your destruction, and I will rejoice when ruin comes upon you
and when panic comes to you suddenly, and destruction comes like a storm, and when tribulation and siege come to you, or when ruin comes to you
For it shall be, when you call upon me, that I also will not listen to you; evil men will seek me and will not find me.
For they hated wisdom, and they did not choose the fear of the Lord.
They were unwilling to pay heed to my counsels, but they mocked my reproofs.
Therefore they shall eat the fruits of their own way, and they shall be filled with the products of their own impiety
For because of what they were wronging the simple, they will be slain, and scrutiny will destroy the impious.
But he who listens to me will dwell in hope and will be at rest without fear from every evil
