Your ear will be obedient to wisdom, and you will apply your heart to understanding; and you will apply it to admonition, to your son.
For if you call upon wisdom and give your voice to understanding, and seek perception with a loud voice
and if you seek her as silver and search her out as treasures
then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and you will find the knowledge of God
For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his presence come knowledge and understanding.
and he treasures up salvation for those who succeed; he will shield their way
to keep the ways of righteous judgments and he will guard the way of those who fear him
Then you will understand righteousness and judgment, and you will make straight all good courses.
For if wisdom comes into your mind, and perception seems to your soul to be good,
Good counsel will guard you, and holy understanding will keep you.
to rescue you from an evil way and from a man speaking nothing trustworthy
who forsake straight paths, to walk in ways of darkness
Those who rejoice at evils and are glad at evil distortion
whose paths are crooked and their tracks bent
to make you far from a straight way and alien to righteous counsel
son, let not evil counsel seize you, that which forsakes the teaching of youth and has forgotten the divine covenant
For she has set her house beside death and her tracks with the earthborn beside Hades
All who go in her shall not return, nor shall they surely attain to the paths of straightness, for they are not overtaken by years of life.
For if they had walked in good paths, they would have found smooth paths of righteousness.
For the upright will dwell in the land, and the innocent will be left in it; for the straight will camp in the land, and the holy will be left in it.
The ways of the ungodly will be destroyed from the earth, but the lawless will be driven out from it.
