1 A psalm of David, when the son pursues him. O Lord, hear my prayer; give ear to my supplication in your truth; answer me in your righteousness.
2 and do not enter into judgment with your servant, because no living being will be justified before you
3 For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has humbled my life to the ground; he has made me sit in dark places, like the dead of old.
4 And my spirit grew faint within me; my heart was troubled within me.
5 I remembered days of old, and I meditated on all your works; I meditated on the works of your hands.
6 I stretched out my hands to you; my soul is like a waterless land before you. Selah
7 Hasten to hear me, Lord; my spirit has failed. Do not turn your face away from me, and I will be likened to those who go down into a pit.
8 Make your mercy heard to me in the morning, for I have hoped in you; make known to me, Lord, the way in which I will walk, for to you I have lifted up my soul
9 Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord, because I have taken refuge in you
10 Teach me to do your will, because you are my God; your good spirit will guide me in a straight land.
11 For the sake of your name, O Lord, you will preserve me; in your righteousness you will bring my soul out of affliction
12 And in your mercy you will utterly destroy my enemies, and you will destroy all those who oppress my soul, because I am your servant.
