Waiting I waited for the Lord, and he paid heed to me and heard my supplication.
And he brought me up out of a pit of misery and from the mire of clay, and he set my feet upon a rock and made my steps straight.
And he put into my mouth a new song, a hymn to our God. Many will see and will fear, and they will hope in the Lord.
Blessed is the man whose hope is the name of the Lord, and he has not looked to vanities and false madnesses
Many things you have done, you, O Lord my God, your wonders, and in your thoughts there is no one who will be likened to you. I have announced and spoken; they have been multiplied beyond number.
Sacrifice and offering you did not will, but ears you prepared for me; whole burnt offering and for sin you did not ask.
Then I said, Behold, I come; in the heading of a book it is written concerning me
To do your will, my God, I desired, and your law is in the midst of my belly.
I proclaimed righteousness in a great assembly; behold, I will not restrain my lips. O Lord, you know.
I have not hidden your righteousness in my heart; I have spoken of your truth and your salvation; I have not hidden your mercy and your truth from a great assembly
But you, O Lord, do not keep far away your compassions from me; your mercy and your truth have helped me continually.
For evils have surrounded me, of which there is no number; my lawless deeds have overtaken me, and I was not able to see; they have been multiplied beyond the hairs of my head, and my heart has forsaken me.
Be pleased, Lord, to deliver me; Lord, attend to help me.
Let them be put to shame and let them be confounded together, those seeking my life to take it away; let them be turned back into the things behind and let them be confounded, those wishing evils to me
Let them receive their shame at once, those who say to me, Aha, aha.
Let them rejoice and be glad in you, all those who seek you, O Lord, and let them say always, Let the Lord be magnified, those who love your salvation.
But I am poor and needy; the Lord will care for me. You are my helper and my defender, you are my God; do not delay.
