Give ear, O God, to my prayer, and do not overlook my supplication.
Attend to me and listen to me; I was grieved in my meditation, and I was troubled.
Because of the voice of the enemy and because of the affliction of the sinner; for they turned lawlessness upon me, and in anger they bore a grudge against me
My heart was troubled within me, and the cowardice of death fell upon me
Fear and trembling came upon me, and darkness covered me.
And I said, Who will give me wings like a dove, and I will fly and rest?
Behold, I fled far away and lodged in the wilderness. Selah
I was waiting for the one saving me from faintheartedness and storm.
Engulf them, O Lord, and divide their tongues, for I have seen lawlessness and contention in the city
Day and night lawlessness will go around it upon its walls, and toil in the midst of it, and injustice
and usury and deceit did not fail from her broad places
For if an enemy had reproached me, I would have endured it, and if the one hating me had boasted against me, I would have hidden myself from him
But you, man of like soul, my leader and my familiar friend
who together with me sweetened food in the house of God we walked in unity
Let death come upon them, and let them go down alive into Hades, because evils are in their dwellings, in the midst of them
But I cried out to God, and the Lord heard me.
Evening and morning and at noonday I will tell, I will proclaim, and he will hear my voice
He will redeem my soul in peace from those drawing near to me, because they were in many with me
God will hear and will humble them, the one who exists before the ages. Pause. For there is no exchange for them, and they did not fear God.
He stretched out his hand in the act of repaying; they profaned his covenant.
They were divided because of the anger of his face, and his heart drew near; his words were softened above oil, and yet they are darts.
Cast your care upon the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never give the righteous one to be shaken.
But you, O God, will bring them down into a pit of destruction; men of blood and deceit will not live out half their days. But I will hope in you, O Lord.
