Psalms 57

Text size:
If indeed you speak righteousness, do you judge uprightly, sons of men?
For even in heart of lawlessness you work injustice in the land; your hands weave together injustice.
The sinners have been estranged from the womb; they have gone astray from the belly; they have spoken lies.
Their fury is according to the likeness of a serpent, like a deaf asp that stops its ears,
which will not hear the voice of enchanters, of medicine being medicated by a wise man
God has shattered their teeth in their mouth; the Lord has crushed the jaws of the lions.
They shall be made of no account, like water passing through; he shall bend his bow until they are weak.
Like wax that is melted, they will be taken away; fire fell and they did not see the sun.
Before your thorns understand the brier, he will swallow you up as if living, as if in wrath.
The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance of the ungodly; he will wash his hands in the blood of the sinner.
And man will say, Surely there is a fruit for the righteous; surely there is a God judging them in the earth.
