Lord, the God of my salvation, by day I cried out, and at night before you
Let my prayer come before you; incline your ear to my supplication, O Lord
For my soul has been filled with evils, and my life has drawn near to Hades.
I am reckoned with those going down into the pit; I have become like a man without help, among the dead, free.
like wounded men thrown down, sleeping in a grave, of whom you have not remembered any more, and they themselves have been pushed away from your hand
They have put me in the lowest pit, in dark places and in the shadow of death.
Your wrath has leaned upon me, and you brought all your waves upon me. Selah
You have removed my acquaintances far from me; they made me an abomination to themselves; I was handed over, and I did not go out.
ὀφθαλμοί μου ἠσθένησαν ἀπὸ πτωχείας ἐκέκραξα πρὸς σέ κύριε ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν διεπέτασα πρὸς σὲ τὰς χεῖράς μου
My eyes grew weak from poverty; I cried out to you, Lord; all the day I stretched out my hands to you.
Will you do wonders for the dead, or will physicians raise them up and confess to you?
Will anyone declare your mercy in the tomb, and your truth in destruction?
Will your wonders be known in the darkness, and your righteousness in a forgotten land?
And I have cried out to you, O Lord, and in the morning my prayer will come before you
Why, Lord, do you cast away my soul? You turn your face away from me.
I am poor and in labors from my youth; but having been exalted, I was humbled and brought to helplessness.
Your wrath has passed over me, and your terrors have troubled me
They surrounded me like water; all the day they encompassed me together.
You have put far from me friend and neighbor and my acquaintances because of affliction
