And Naomi had a man known to her husband, and the man was mighty in strength, of the family of Abimelech, and his name was Boaz

And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, Let me go now into the field and gather among the ears after whomsoever I may find favor in his eyes. And she said to her, Go, daughter.

And she went and gleaned in the field behind the reapers, and she happened upon a portion of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the kindred of Abimelech.

And behold, Boos came from Bethlehem and said to the reapers, The Lord be with you. And they said to him, The Lord bless you.

And Boaz said to his servant who was set over the reapers, Whose is this young woman?

And the young servant who was set over the reapers answered and said, It is the Moabitess maid who returned with Noemin from the field of Moab.

And she said, I will now gather and collect among the sheaves behind the reapers. And she came and stood from morning and until evening she did not rest in the field, a little

And Boaz said to Ruth, Have you not heard, daughter? Do not go to another field to glean, and you shall not go from here; stay here with my maidens.

Let your eyes be upon the field where they may reap, and you shall go after them. Behold, I have commanded the young men not to touch you, and whatever time you thirst, you shall go to the vessels and drink from where the young men draw water.

And she fell on her face and bowed to the ground and said to him, Why is it that I have found favor in your eyes, that you should recognize me, and I am a foreign woman?

And Boaz answered and said to her, By a report it has been reported to me all that you have done with your mother-in-law after the death of your husband, and how you left your father and your mother and the land of your birth and went to a people whom you did not know yesterday and the third day before yesterday.

May the Lord repay your work, and may your reward be full from the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you came to trust.

And she said, May I find favor in your eyes, lord, because you have comforted me and because you have spoken to the heart of your servant, and behold, I will be as one of your maidservants.

And Boaz said to her, At the hour of eating, come near here, and you shall eat of the breads, and you shall dip your morsel in the vinegar. And Ruth sat by the side of the reapers, and Boaz gave her parched grain, and she ate and was filled, and left over.

And she rose up to gather, and Boaz commanded his young men, saying, Also let her gather among the sheaves, and do not put her to shame.

And while carrying, you shall carry for her; and indeed, when setting aside, you shall set aside for her from the bundles, and leave it, and she shall gather, and you shall not rebuke her.

And she gleaned in the field until evening, and she beat out what she had gleaned, and it came to be about an ephah of barley.

And she took up and went into the city, and her mother-in-law saw what she had gathered; and Ruth, having brought it out, gave to her what she had left from what she had been filled with.

And her mother-in-law said to her, Where did you gather today, and where did you work? May the one who recognized you be blessed. And Ruth told her mother-in-law where she had worked, and she said, The name of the man with whom I worked today is Boaz.

And Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, Blessed is he to the Lord, because he has not left his mercy with the living and with the dead. And Naomi said to her, The man is near to us; he is one of our next of kin.

And Ruth said to her mother-in-law, yes, indeed, because he said to me, Join yourself with my young men until they have finished all the harvest that belongs to me.

And Naomi said to Ruth her daughter-in-law, It is good, daughter, that you went with his young women, and they will not meet you in another field.

And Ruth was joined to the maidens of Boaz to glean until he finished the harvest of the barley and of the wheat, and she dwelt with her mother-in-law.
