Empty hopes and false dreams raise up the foolish man who is without understanding.

Like one grasping at a shadow and pursuing the wind, so is the one who gives attention to dreams

This against that, a vision of dreams, opposite a face, likeness of a face

From an unclean thing what will be cleansed, and from a false thing what will be true?

Divinations and auguries and dreams are vain, and the heart imagines as of one in labor.

If it is not sent from the Most High in visitation, do not give your heart to them.

For many dreams have led astray, and they fell, hoping on them.

Without falsehood law will be accomplished, and wisdom by a faithful mouth, perfection.

A man who has wandered has known many things, and the one with much experience will declare understanding.

He who has not been tested knows little, but he who has gone astray multiplies cunning.

I have seen many things in my wandering, and my understanding more than my words.

Often I have been in danger even to death, and I was saved because of these things.

The spirit of those fearing the Lord shall live, for their hope is on the one saving them

He who fears the Lord will fear nothing, and will not be cowardly, because he himself is his hope

Blessed is the soul of one fearing the Lord; on whom does he lean, and who is his support?

The eyes of the Lord are upon those who love him: a defense of dominion and a support of strength, a shelter from heat and a shelter from noon, a guard from stumbling and help from falling

raising up the soul and giving light to the eyes, giving healing, life, and blessing

He who sacrifices from what is unjust offers a blemished offering, and gifts of lawless men are not for favor.

The Most High does not take pleasure in offerings of the ungodly, nor is he appeased for sins by a multitude of sacrifices.

He who sacrifices a son before his father is the one who brings an offering from the goods of the poor.

Bread of the needy is the life of the poor; the man who deprives them of it is a man of bloods.

He who takes away a neighbor’s livelihood is murdering him, and he who sheds blood is he who deprives a hired worker of wages

One building up and one tearing down, what have they profited more than troubles?

One praying and one cursing, whose voice will the master hear?

He that is being baptized from a dead body and again touching it, what has he profited in his washing?

So a man fasting for his sins and again going and doing the same things—who will hear his prayer? And what has he profited by his humbling himself?
