He said, Perhaps Gabael has been put to shame, or perhaps he has died, and no one gives him the silver.
And he was being greatly distressed.
And the woman said to him, The child is lost, because he has delayed, and she began to lament him and said,
I do not care, child, that I left you, the light of my eyes.
And Tobit says to her, Be silent, do not care about the matter; he is well.
εἶπεν αὐτῷ σίγα μὴ πλάνα με ἀπώλετο τὸ παιδίον μου καὶ ἐπορεύετο καθ᾿ ἡμέραν εἰς τὴν ὁδὸν ἔξω οἵας ἀπῆλθεν ἡμέρας τε ἄρτον οὐκ ἤσθιεν τὰς δὲ νύκτας οὐ διελίμπανεν θρηνοῦσα Τωβιαν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτῆς ἕως οὗ συνετελέσθησαν αἱ δέκα τέσσαρες ἡμέραι τοῦ γάμου ἃς ὤμοσεν Ραγουηλ ποιῆσαι αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ
And she said to him, Be silent, do not deceive me; my child has perished. And she was going out every day onto the road outside by which he had gone away; and by day she did not eat bread, but by nights she did not cease lamenting Tobias her son, until the fourteen days of the marriage were completed, which Raguel had sworn to make for him there.
But Tobias said to Raguel, Send me away, because my father and my mother no longer hope to see me.
δὲ αὐτῷ ὁ πενθερὸς αὐτοῦ μεῖνον παρ᾿ ἐμοί κἀγὼ ἐξαποστελῶ πρὸς τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ δηλώσουσιν αὐτῷ τὰ κατὰ σέ καὶ Τωβιας λέγει οὐχί ἀλλὰ ἐξαπόστειλόν με πρὸς τὸν πατέρα μου
And his father-in-law said to him, Stay with me, and I will send to your father, and they will make known to him the things concerning you. And Tobias says, No, but send me away to my father.
δὲ Ραγουηλ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ Σαρραν τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ ἥμισυ τῶν ὑπαρχόντων σώματα καὶ κτήνη καὶ ἀργύριον
Then Raguel arose and gave him Sarah his wife, and half of the possessions, servants and cattle and silver.
And having blessed them he sent them away, saying, May the God of heaven prosper you, children, before I die.
εἶπεν τῇ θυγατρὶ αὐτοῦ τίμα τοὺς πενθερούς σου αὐτοὶ νῦν γονεῖς σού εἰσιν ἀκούσαιμί σου ἀκοὴν καλήν καὶ ἐφίλησεν αὐτήν
And he said to his daughter, Honor your parents-in-law; they are now your parents. May I hear a good report of you. And he kissed her.
Εδνα εἶπεν πρὸς Τωβιαν ἄδελφε ἀγαπητέ ἀποκαταστήσαι σε ὁ κύριος τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ δῴη μοι ἰδεῖν σου παιδία ἐκ Σαρρας τῆς θυγατρός μου ἵνα εὐφρανθῶ ἐνώπιον τοῦ κυρίου καὶ ἰδοὺ παρατίθεμαί σοι τὴν θυγατέρα μου ἐν παρακαταθήκῃ μὴ λυπήσῃς αὐτήν
And Edna said to Tobias, Beloved brother, may the Lord of heaven restore you, and may he grant me to see your children from Sarah my daughter, so that I may rejoice before the Lord. And behold, I commit to you my daughter as a deposit; do not grieve her.
ταῦτα ἐπορεύετο Τωβιας εὐλογῶν τὸν θεόν ὅτι εὐόδωσεν τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ κατευλόγει Ραγουηλ καὶ Εδναν τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ
After these things Tobias was going on, blessing God because he had prospered his way, and he kept blessing Raguel and Edna his wife
