For still holding the mourning rites in their hands and lamenting at the graves of the dead, they drew upon themselves another thought of folly, and those whom they were begging from them they drove out as fugitives.

The cloud overshadowing the camp, and from pre-existing water a dry rising up of land was seen, from the Red Sea an unobstructed way and a grass-bearing plain from a violent surge

And the punishments came upon the sinners, not without the previous proofs, by the violence of the thunderbolts; for they were suffering justly by their own wickednesses, for they even practiced a more severe hatred of strangers.

For through themselves the elements, being transformed, as in a psaltery the notes of the rhythm, change the name, always remaining by sound, which is to be inferred accurately from the sight of the things that have happened.
