Likewise, women, be submissive to your own husbands, so that even if some disobey the word, they may be won without a word through the conduct of the women.

Let not the outward adornment be the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold or the clothing of fine garments,

But the hidden person of the heart, in the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious before God.

For in this way also the holy women who hoped in God adorned themselves, submitting to their own husbands,

as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose children you have become, doing good and not fearing any terror.

Likewise, husbands live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the weaker vessel, as co-heirs of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

For the one who wants to love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from speaking deceit,

Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

And who will harm you if you become zealous for what is good?

For it is better to suffer while doing good, if it is the will of God, than while doing evil.
