Paul and Silvanus and Timothy to the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: grace to you and peace.
We always give thanks to God for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers without ceasing.
remembering your work of faith and labor of love and endurance of the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ before God and Father of us,
knowing, beloved brothers, that you were chosen by God,
because our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction, just as you know what kind of people we became among you for your sake;
And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, receiving the word in much affliction with the joy of the Holy Spirit,
so that you might become a model to all who believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
For the word of the Lord has sounded out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith toward God has gone forth, so that we do not need to say anything.
For they themselves report about us what kind of entrance we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,
and to wait for his Son from the heavens, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, the one who rescues us from the coming wrath.
