in hypocrisy of liars, whose conscience is seared,

Forbidding to marry, abstaining from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

For every creation of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,

For it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer.

By advising these things to the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished by the words of faith and the good teaching you have followed,

But reject irreverent and old wives' myths. Train yourself for godliness.

For physical training is of some value, but godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for the life now and the one to come.

The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance,

For this we labor and are insulted, because we have hoped in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

Command these things and teach them.

Let no one despise your youth, but be an example of the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

Until I come, pay attention to reading, to exhortation, to teaching.

Do not neglect the gift in you, which was given to you through prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the elders.

Meditate on these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress may be evident to all.
