Do not rebuke an elder, but encourage him as a father, the younger as brothers,

Older women as mothers, younger women as sisters in all purity.

Honor widows who are truly widows.

But if anyone has widows or grandchildren, let them first learn to show piety toward their own household and to repay their ancestors, for this is acceptable before God.

But the truly widowed woman, who is isolated, has set her hope on God and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.

But the one who wastes lives has died.

And command these things, so that they may be above reproach.

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Let a widow be enrolled who is not less than sixty years old, a wife of one man,

Being proven in good works, if she has brought up children, if she has shown hospitality, if she has washed the feet of the saints, if she has helped those in trouble, if she has followed every good work.

But younger widows refuse, because when they grow wanton against the Messiah, they desire to marry,

They have a judgment because they have rejected the first faith.

And at the same time they become idle, going around from house to house, not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, speaking things not proper.

Therefore I want younger women to marry, to bear children, to manage the household, and to give no opportunity to the opponent for reproach.

For already some have turned away after Satan.

If anyone has faithful widows, let them provide for them, and let the church not be burdened, so that it may provide for the widows who are truly widows.

The elders who lead well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in word and teaching.

For the Scripture says, You shall not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain, and, The worker is worthy of his wages.

Do not accept an accusation against an elder except on the evidence of two or three witnesses.

Rebuke those who sin in front of everyone, so that the others may also have fear.

I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus and the chosen angels to keep these things without partiality, doing nothing out of favoritism.

Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in the sins of others; keep yourself pure.

Stop drinking only water, but use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.

The sins of some people are obvious, leading to judgment, but for others they follow after.

Likewise, the good works are obvious, and those that are otherwise cannot be hidden.
