All who are under the yoke as slaves should consider their own masters worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be blasphemed.

Those who have believing masters must not despise them, because they are brothers; but rather they must serve them, because they are faithful and beloved, sharing in the benefit. He taught and encouraged these things.

If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that is according to godliness,

He is puffed up, knowing nothing, but sick about disputes and arguments, from which come envy, strife, slander, and evil suspicions,

Disputes of corrupt people deprived of the truth, thinking that godliness is a means of gain.

But godliness with contentment is a great gain.

For we have brought nothing into the world, because we are not able to carry anything out either.

Having food and clothing, we will be content with these.

But those wanting to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires, which drown people into ruin and destruction.

For the root of all evils is the love of money, which some, desiring it, have wandered away from the faith and have pierced themselves with many pains.

But you, O man of God, flee these things; pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness.

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of eternal life, to which you were called and have confessed the good confession before many witnesses.

I charge you before God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate,

to keep the command without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,

whom the blessed and only ruler will show at the proper time, the King of kings and Lord of lords,

The only one having immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no one of humans has seen nor is able to see; to whom be honor and eternal power. Amen.

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in uncertain wealth, but in God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment,

to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, sharing with others,

storing up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of true life.

O Timothy, guard the deposit, avoiding profane and empty babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge,

which some have professed concerning the faith and missed the mark. Grace be with you.
