Therefore we must pay more careful attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.

For if the word spoken through angels proved reliable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty,
How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which, having begun to be spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard,
συνεπιμαρτυροῦντος τοῦ θεοῦ σημείοις τε καὶ τέρασιν καὶ ποικίλαις δυνάμεσιν καὶ πνεύματος ἁγίου μερισμοῖς κατὰ τὴν αὐτοῦ θέλησιν;
God also bearing witness with signs and wonders and various miracles and distributions of the Holy Spirit according to his will;
For it is not to angels that he has subjected the coming world, about which we are speaking.
διεμαρτύρατο δέ πού τις λέγων· Τί ἐστιν ἄνθρωπος ὅτι μιμνῄσκῃ αὐτοῦ, ἢ υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου ὅτι ἐπισκέπτῃ αὐτόν;
But somewhere someone has testified, saying: What is man that you remember him, or the son of man that you visit him?
You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor,
You have put all things under his feet. For when he subjected all things, he left nothing unsubjected to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels because of the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
For it was fitting for him, through whom all things exist and through whom all things exist, to bring many sons to glory, perfecting the leader of their salvation through sufferings.
For the one who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one; therefore, he does not shame to call them brothers,
Saying, I will declare your name to my brothers; in the midst of the assembly I will praise you.
And again, I will put my trust in him; and again, Behold, I and the children whom God has given to me.
Since therefore the children have shared in blood and flesh, he himself likewise shared in the same, so that through death he might destroy the one holding the power of death, that is, the devil,
and deliver those who through fear of death were all their life subject to slavery.
For he does not take hold of angels, but he takes hold of the seed of Abraham.
Therefore, he had to be made like his brothers in every way, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest toward God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.
For because he himself was tested and suffered, he is able to help those who are being tested.
