And when the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue. And many who heard were amazed, saying, Where did this man get these things, and what is the wisdom given to him, and such powers working through his hands?

Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us? And they were scandalized at him.

And King Herod heard, for his name had become well known, and people were saying that John the baptizer had been raised from the dead, and because of this the powers were working in him.

And when Herodias’ daughter entered and danced and pleased Herod and those reclining with him, the king said to the girl, Ask me for whatever you want, and I will give it to you.

And taking the five loaves and the two fish, looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves and gave them to his disciples to set before them, and he divided the two fish among all.

And seeing them struggling while rowing, for the wind was against them, about the fourth watch of the night he came to them walking on the sea, and he intended to pass by them.

And wherever he entered into villages or cities or countryside, in the marketplaces they placed the sick, and they begged him that they might even touch the fringe of his garment; and all who touched him were saved.
