At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Who then is greatest in the kingdom of the heavens?

And having called a child, he stood it in the midst of them

And he said, Truly I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens.

And whoever receives one child like this in my name receives me.

But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it is better for him that a donkey millstone be hung around his neck and that he be drowned in the depth of the sea.

Woe to the world because of the stumbling blocks; for it is necessary that stumbling blocks come, but woe to the person through whom the stumbling block comes.

But if your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away from you. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into the eternal fire.

And if your eye causes you to stumble, tear it out and throw it away from you. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the Gehenna of fire.

See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in the heavens always see the face of my Father who is in the heavens.

What do you think? If a man has one hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and seek the one that went astray?

And if it happens to find it, truly I say to you that he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine who have not gone astray.

In this way it is not the will before your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

But if your brother sins against you, go and rebuke him privately between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.

But if he does not listen, take one or two others with you, so that every word may be established by the mouth of two or three witnesses.

But if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will have been loosed in heaven.

Again, truly I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them.

Then Peter approached him and said, Lord, how many times will my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?

Jesus said to him, I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.

Therefore the kingdom of the heavens was likened to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves.

When he began to settle accounts, one debtor was brought to him who owed ten thousand talents.

But not having anything to repay, his master ordered him to be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and to be repaid.

Then the servant fell down and bowed to him, saying, Be patient with me, and I will repay you everything.

But the master of that servant, moved with compassion, released him and forgave him the debt.

Then that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him one hundred denarii, and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, Give back what you owe.

Then his fellow servant fell down and begged him, saying, Be patient with me, and I will repay you.

But he was unwilling, and going away, he threw him into prison until he should pay what was owed.

When his fellow servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had happened to them.

Then his master called him and said to him, You wicked servant, I have forgiven you all that debt because you begged me.

Was it not necessary for you also to have mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?

And his master, being angry, handed him over to the torturers until he should pay all that was owed.

So also my Father in heaven will do to you if each of you does not forgive your brother from your heart.
