And it happened when Jesus finished these words, he withdrew from Galilee and came to the borders of Judea beyond the Jordan.

And large crowds followed him, and he healed them there.

And the Pharisees came to him, testing him and saying, Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause?

He answered, Have you not read that the one who created from the beginning made them male and female?

And he said, For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will be joined to his wife, and the two will be one flesh.

So they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.

They say to him, Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away?

He said to them, Moses allowed you to divorce your wives because of your hardness of heart, but from the beginning it was not so.

But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife except for sexual immorality and marries another commits adultery, and the one who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

The disciples say to him, If this is the case of a man with the woman, it is not advantageous to marry.

But he said to them, Not all are able to accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.

For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of the heavens. Let the one who is able to accept this accept it.

Then children were brought to him so that he might lay his hands on them and pray; but the disciples rebuked them.

But Jesus said, Let the children be and do not hinder them from coming to me, for of such is the kingdom of the heavens.

And having laid hands on them, he went from there.

And behold, one came to him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I do in order to have eternal life?

He said to him, Why do you ask me about the good? One is the good. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.

He says to him, Which ones? And Jesus said, You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,

Honor your father and your mother, and you will love your neighbor as yourself.

The young man said to him, I have kept all these; what do I still lack?

Jesus said to him, If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in the heavens, and come, follow me.

But when the young man heard the word, he went away grieving, for he had many possessions.

And Jesus said to his disciples, Truly I say to you, it is difficult for a rich person to enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.

When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and said, Who then can be saved?

But Jesus looked at them and said, This is impossible for people, but for God all things are possible.

Then Peter answered him, Look, we have left everything and followed you; what then will be for us?

But Jesus said to them, Amen I say to you that you who have followed me in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on his throne of glory, you also will sit on twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields because of my name will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.

But many will be first who are last, and last who are first.
