Paul and Timothy, slaves of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the overseers and deacons.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

I give thanks to my God upon every remembrance of you

Always in every prayer of mine for all of you, making the request with joy,

because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now,

Confident of this very thing, that the one who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Since it is right for me to think this way about all of you, because I hold you in my heart, both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, all of you are partners with me in grace.

For God is my witness how I long for all of you with the compassion of Christ Jesus.

And this I pray, that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and in all discernment,

to test you for what is excellent, so that you may be sincere and without offense until the day of Christ,

filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God.

But I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has rather advanced the progress of the gospel,

so that my chains have become manifest in Christ throughout the whole praetorium and to all the rest,

And most of the brothers, having confidence in the Lord because of my chains, dare more boldly to speak the word without fear.

Some indeed proclaim Christ out of envy and strife, but others also out of goodwill.

Some indeed out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel,

But those who proclaim Christ out of rivalry do so not sincerely, thinking to cause trouble for my chains.

What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in this I rejoice; yes, and I will rejoice,

For I know that this will turn out for my salvation through your prayer and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

According to my eager expectation and hope, that I will in no way be put to shame, but with all boldness, as always and now, Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

For to me, living is Christ and dying is gain.

But if living in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labor—and what I will choose I do not know.

But I am hard pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better,

But remaining in the flesh is more necessary because of you.

And confident in this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,

so that your boasting may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence again with you.

Only live worthily of the gospel of the Messiah, so that whether I come and see you or am absent and hear about you, I know that you stand firm in one spirit, striving together with one soul for the faith of the gospel,

and not being frightened by anything from those who oppose, which is a sign of destruction for them but of your salvation, and this from God,

because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him but also to suffer on his behalf,

Having the same struggle which you saw in me and now hear is in me.
