Do not slander anyone, be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all people.
For we too were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, detestable, hating one another.
But when the kindness and love for humanity of our Savior God appeared,
not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
whom he poured out abundantly on us through Jesus Christ our Savior,
so that having been justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
The word is trustworthy, and concerning these things I want you to insist firmly, so that those who have trusted in God may devote themselves to doing good works. These things are good and beneficial for people.
But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and quarrels and legal disputes, because they are unprofitable and useless.
Warn a divisive person once and twice, then have nothing more to do with them,
Knowing that such a person has turned aside and is sinning, being self-condemned.
When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, make every effort to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.
Send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way with haste, so that nothing may be lacking for them.
And let our people also learn to devote themselves to good works for necessary needs, so that they may not be unfruitful.
All who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us in faith. Grace be with you all.
