And these were the ones who came to David to Ziklag, while he was still being held back from before Saul son of Kish; and these among the mighty, helping in war.

and with bow on the right and on the left and slingers with stones and bows from the brothers of Saul, from Benjamin

the chief Ahiezer and Joash son of Azma the Gebothite, and Joel and Jophalet, sons of Asmoth, and Berchiah and Jehu the Anathothite

and Shemaiah the Gibeonite, mighty among the thirty and over the thirty

Jeremiah and Jahaziel and Johanan and Jozabad the Gederathite

Eliazai and Iarimouth and Baalia and Samaria and Shaphatia the Haraiphite

Elkanah and Jeshuni and Azriel and Joazar and Jesboam, the Korahites

And Elia and Zabadia, sons of Iraam, sons of the Gedorite

And from the Gadites there were separated to David, from the wilderness, mighty, powerful men for battle array, lifting shields and spears, and their faces were the face of a lion, and swift as gazelles upon the mountains in speed

Azer the chief, Abdia the second, Eliab the third

Masemanne the fourth, Iermia the fifth

Eththi the sixth, Eliab the seventh

Johanan the eighth, Eliezer the ninth

Jermia the tenth, Machabannai the eleventh

These were from the sons of Gad, captains of the army: one for a hundred, the small and the great for the thousands.

These are the men who crossed the Jordan in the first month, when it had filled all its banks, and they drove out all those who were dwelling in the valleys, from east to west.

And they came from the sons of Benjamin and Judah to the help of David

And David went out to meet them and said to them, If you have come to me for peace, let my heart be toward you in singleness, and if it is for betraying me to my enemies, may the God of our fathers see it, and may he rebuke it.

And a spirit clothed Amasai, the leader of the thirty, and he said, Go, and your people, David son of Jesse; peace, peace to you, and peace to your helpers, because your God has helped you. And David received them and appointed them leaders of the forces.

And from Manasseh they joined to David when the Philistines came against Saul for war, and he did not help them, because by counsel it came about from the commanders of the Philistines, saying, He will turn back to his lord Saul at the heads of those men.

When he was going to Soclag, there joined themselves to him from Manasseh Edna and Jozabath and Jodiel and Michael and Josabeth and Elimuth and Selathi, leaders of thousands of Manasseh.

And they themselves joined with David against the raid, because they were all mighty in strength, and they were leaders in the army in power.

For day by day they were coming to David to a great force, like the force of God

And these are the names of the leaders of the army who came to David to Hebron to turn the kingdom of Saul over to him according to the word of the Lord

sons of Judah, shield-bearers and spear-bearers, six thousand and eight hundred, mighty for battle array

Of the sons of Simeon, mighty men of strength for battle formation, seven thousand and one hundred

of the sons of Levi, four thousand six hundred

and Jehoiada, the leader for Aaron, and with him three thousand and seven hundred

and Zadok, a young man mighty in strength, and twenty-two rulers of his father’s house

And from the sons of Benjamin, the brothers of Saul, three thousand, and even the greater part of them were keeping watch over the guard of the house of Saul.

And from the sons of Ephraim, twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of strength, men named according to the houses of their fathers' families

And from the half-tribe of Manasseh, eighteen thousand, who were named by name to make David king

And from the sons of Issachar, men knowing understanding of the times, knowing what Israel should do, two hundred; and all their brothers with them

And from Zebulun, going out for battle array, in all warlike equipment, fifty thousand, to help David, not with a divided heart

And from Naphtali, leaders a thousand, and with them in shields and spears, thirty-seven thousand

And from the Danites, arrayed for battle, twenty-eight thousand and eight hundred

And from Asher, those going out to help in war, forty thousand.

And from beyond the Jordan, from Reuben and Gad and from the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all weapons of war, one hundred twenty thousand

All these were men of war, arraying battle in a peaceful spirit, and they came to Hebron to make David king over all Israel; and the rest of Israel were of one mind to make David king

And they were there three days, eating and drinking, because their brothers had prepared for them.

And those bordering on them, as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, were bringing to them on camels and on donkeys and on mules and on calves food, flour, cakes of raisins, wine, and oil, oxen and sheep in abundance, for there was joy in Israel
