1 And the sons of Israel according to their number, the heads of the fathers’ houses, commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and scribes, those serving the people and in every matter of the king, by divisions, for every matter of the one who was coming in and going out, month by month for all the months of the year, one division, twenty-four thousand.
2 And over the division of the first of the first month was Jesboam son of Zabdiel, and over his division were twenty-four thousand.
3 of the sons of Pharez, chief of all the chiefs of the force of the first month
4 And over the division of the second month was Dodai the Ahohite, and over his division were twenty-four thousand leaders of the force.
5 The third, for the third month, Benaiah son of Jehoiada the priest, the ruler; and over his division were twenty-four thousand.
6 He was Benaiah, mightier than the thirty, and over the thirty; and over his division was Ammizabad his son.
7 The fourth, for the fourth month, Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son, and his brothers; and for his division twenty-four thousand.
8 The fifth for the fifth month, the leader Shammah the Izrahite; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.
9 The sixth for the sixth month was Odouias son of Ekkes the Thekoite; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.
10 The seventh, in the seventh month, was Chelles the Phallusite, from the sons of Ephraim; and over his division were twenty-four thousand.
11 The eighth for the eighth month: Sobochai the Isathite, of Zara, and over his division twenty-four thousand.
12 The ninth, for the ninth month, Abiezer the Anathothite, from the land of Benjamin; and over his division, twenty-four thousand.
13 The tenth for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathite of the Zerahites, and in his division were twenty-four thousand.
14 The eleventh for the eleventh month was Benaiah the Pharathonite, of the sons of Ephraim, and over his division were twenty-four thousand.
15 The twelfth for the twelfth month: Heldai the Netophathite, for Othniel, and over his division were twenty-four thousand.
16 And over the tribes of Israel: for Reuben, Eliezer son of Zichri was leader; for Simeon, Shephatiah son of Maacah.
17 To Levi, Hashabiah the son of Kemuel; to Aaron, Zadok
18 for Judah, Eliab, of the brothers of David; for Issachar, Omri son of Michael
19 for Zebulun, Samaias son of Abdias; for Naphtali, Ierimoth son of Esriel
20 For Ephraim, Hosea son of Uzziah; for the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joel son of Pedaiah
21 for the half-tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Jaddai son of Zabdiel; for the sons of Benjamin, Asael son of Abner
22 For Dan, Azarael the son of Joram. These were the patriarchs of the tribes of Israel.
23 And David did not take their number from twenty years old and below, because the Lord had said to multiply Israel as the stars of heaven.
24 And Joab son of Zeruiah began to number among the people, and he did not complete it, and there came to be wrath upon Israel because of these things, and the number was not recorded in the book of the words of the days of King David
25 And over the treasures of the king was Azmoth son of Adiel, and over the treasures in the field and in the villages and in the settlements and in the towers was Jonathan son of Uzziah.
26 And over those tilling the land, those working it, was Ezri son of Chelub.
27 and over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite, and over the treasures in the vineyards of wine was Zichri the son of Shephni
28 and over the olive groves and over the sycamore trees in the lowland, Balanas the Gedorite; and over the stores of oil, Joas
29 And over the herds of cattle of the grazing lands in Asidon, Shatrais the Sharonite; and over the herds of cattle in the folds, Saphat son of Adli
30 Over the camels was Obil the Ishmaelite, and over the donkeys was Iadias of Merathon.
31 and over the sheep was Jaziz the Hagrite; all these were overseers of the possessions of David the king
32 And Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counselor, a man of understanding, and a scribe; he also was Jehiel son of Hachmoni, with the sons of the king.
33 And Ahithophel was counselor to the king, and Hushai was the king’s first friend.
34 and after him Ahithophel, with Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar, and Joab the commander of the king's army
