And David assembled all the rulers of Israel, the rulers of the judges, and the rulers of the divisions around the body of the king, and the rulers of the thousands and of the hundreds, and the treasurers, and those over his possessions, and the mighty men, and the warriors of the army, in Jerusalem.

And David stood in the midst of the assembly and said, Hear me, my brothers and my people: It came upon my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for the footstool of our Lord’s feet, and I prepared the things suitable for the dwelling place.

And God said, You shall not build a house for me to call my name upon it, because you are a man of war and you have shed blood.

And the Lord God of Israel chose me from all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever, and in Judah he has chosen the kingdom, and from the house of Judah my father’s house, and among my father’s sons he desired me, to make me king over all Israel.

And from all my sons, for the Lord has given me many sons, he chose Solomon my son to sit him on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel

And God said to me, Solomon your son shall build my house and my court, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be to him for a father

and I will establish his kingdom forever, if he is strong to keep my commandments and my judgments, as this day is.

And now, before all the assembly of the Lord and in the ears of our God, keep and seek all the commandments of the Lord our God, so that you may inherit the good land and bequeath it to your sons after you forever.

And now, Solomon my son, know the God of your fathers, and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing soul, for the Lord searches all hearts and knows every thought; if you seek him, he will be found by you, and if you forsake him, he will forsake you forever.

See now, for the Lord has chosen you to build for him a house for a sanctuary; be strong and do.

And David gave Solomon his son the plan of the temple and of its houses and of its inner chambers and of the upper rooms and of the storehouses of the inner parts and of the house of atonement

and the pattern that he had in his spirit for the courts of the house of the Lord and for all the chambers around, for the storerooms of the house of the Lord and for the storerooms of the holy things

and of the lodgings of the divisions of the priests and of the Levites for every work of the service of the house of the Lord and of the storehouses of the serviceable vessels of the service of the house of the Lord

and the weight of the gold and silver castings of them

the weight of the lampstands he gave to him, and of the lamps

He gave to him likewise the weight of the tables of the showbread, of each golden table, and likewise of the silver ones

and of the flesh-hooks and the drink-offerings and of the golden bowls, and the weight of the golden and silver kephphoure, of each weight

and the weight of the altar of incense from refined gold he showed him, and the pattern of the chariot of the cherubim spread out with their wings and overshadowing over the ark of the covenant of the Lord

David gave Solomon all in writing by the hand of the Lord, according to the understanding that had come to him for the working out of the pattern

And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and act like a man, and do it; do not fear, nor be dismayed, because the Lord my God is with you; he will not let go of you, and he will not forsake you until you finish all the work of the service of the house of the Lord.

And behold, the divisions of the priests and of the Levites for every service of the house of God; and with you in every business, and every one who is willing, in wisdom, according to every skill; and the princes and all the people for all your words.
