And King David said to the whole assembly: Solomon my son, the one whom the Lord has chosen, is young and tender, and the work is great, because the building is not for man but for the Lord God.
According to all my strength I have prepared for the house of my God gold, silver, bronze, iron, wood, stones of soom and of filling, and precious and varied stones, and every costly stone, and much Parian stone
And still, in my being pleased in the house of my God, there is with me what I have acquired, gold and silver, and behold, I have given for the house of my God, for the height, besides what I prepared for the house of the holy things.
And the rulers of the families and the rulers of the sons of Israel and the commanders of thousands and the commanders of hundreds and the overseers of the works and the stewards of the king volunteered.
And they gave for the work of the house of the Lord five thousand talents of gold, and ten thousand gold pieces, and ten thousand talents of silver, and eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and one hundred thousand talents of iron
And the people rejoiced because of their willingness, because with a whole heart they had willingly offered to the Lord, and David the king rejoiced greatly.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the boasting and the victory and the might, because you rule over all that is in heaven and on the earth; from before your presence every king and nation is disturbed.
From you are riches and glory; you rule over all, Lord, the ruler of every rule, and in your hand are strength and dominion, and in your hand, Almighty, to make all things great and to strengthen them all
And who am I and who is my people, that we have prevailed to be willing for you according to these things? For all things are yours, and from your own we have given to you.
And I have known, Lord, that you are the one who tests hearts and that you love righteousness; in uprightness of heart I was eager for all these things, and now I have seen your people, those found here, rejoicing in readiness for you
O Lord, the God of Abraham and Isaac and Israel, our fathers, keep these things in the thought of the heart of your people forever, and direct their hearts toward you
And to my son Solomon give a good heart, to do your commandments and your testimonies and your ordinances, and to bring to completion the building of your house.
And David said to all the assembly, Bless the Lord your God. And all the assembly blessed the Lord, the God of their fathers, and, having bent the knees, they worshiped the Lord and the king.
And David sacrificed to the Lord sacrifices and offered burnt offerings to God on the next day after the first day, a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, and their drink offerings and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel
And they ate and drank before the Lord on that day with joy, and they made Solomon son of David king a second time, and they anointed him for the Lord as king, and Zadok for the priesthood
Now the rest of the words of king David, the former and the latter, are written in the words of Samuel the seer and in the words of Nathan the prophet and in the words of Gad the seer
