And Josias brought the Passover in Jerusalem to his Lord, and he sacrificed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.

having stationed the priests by divisions, clothed in the temple of the Lord

And he said to the Levites, the temple servants of Israel, to consecrate themselves to the Lord in the place of the holy ark of the Lord, in the house that Solomon the son of David the king built: it shall not be for you to carry it on your shoulders.

And now serve the Lord your God and attend to his people Israel, and prepare according to your families and your tribes, according to the writing of David king of Israel and according to the magnificence of Solomon his son.

And standing in the temple according to your ancestral division, you Levites, before your brothers, the sons of Israel, in order

Sacrifice the Passover, and prepare the sacrifices for your brothers, and perform the Passover according to the ordinance of the Lord, which was given to Moses.

And Josiah gave to the people that were found thirty thousand lambs and kids, three thousand calves; these things were given from the royal things according to promise to the people and to the priests and Levites.

And Chelkias and Zacharias and Hesyelos, the overseers of the temple, gave to the priests for the Passover two thousand six hundred sheep, three hundred calves.

And Jechoniah and Samaiah and Nathanael the brother and Asabias and Ochielos and Joram, the chiliarchs, gave to the Levites for the passover five thousand sheep, seven hundred calves.

And these things having been done, the priests and the Levites stood in proper order.

having the unleavened things according to the tribes

and according to the divisions of the fathers before the people, to offer to the Lord according to the things written in the book of Moses, and so the morning offering

And they roasted the Passover with fire as is fitting, and they boiled the sacrifices in the bronze vessels and pots with fragrance, and they brought to all from the people

And after these things they prepared for themselves and for their brothers the priests, the sons of Aaron, for the priests were offering up the fat until nightfall, and the Levites prepared for themselves and for their brothers the priests, the sons of Aaron.

And the temple singers, sons of Asaph, were in their order according to the things appointed by David and Asaph and Zacharias and Eddinus, those from the king, and the gatekeepers at each gate; it is not lawful for each to transgress his own daily service, for their brothers the Levites prepared for them.

And the things of the sacrifice of the Lord were completed in that day, to bring the Passover and to offer the sacrifices upon the altar of the Lord according to the command of King Josiah.

And the sons of Israel who were found in that time kept the Passover and the feast of the unleavened bread for seven days.

And there had not been kept such a passover in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet

And all the kings of Israel did not keep such a Passover as Josiah kept, and the priests and the Levites and the Jews and all Israel, those who were found in their dwelling in Jerusalem.

In the eighteenth year of Josiah’s reign, this Passover was kept.

And the works of Josiah were made upright before his Lord, in a heart full of piety.

And the things concerning him have also been recorded in the former times, about those who had sinned and acted impiously against the Lord, beyond every nation and kingdom, and the things by which they grieved him in perception; and the words of the Lord rose up against Israel.

And after all this act, it happened that Pharaoh king of Egypt, having come, raised war in Carchemish on the Euphrates, and Josias went out to meet him.

And the king of Egypt sent to him, saying, What is there between me and you, king of Judea?

Was I not sent to you by the Lord God? For my war is on the Euphrates, and now the Lord is with me, and the Lord with me is urging on; withdraw and do not oppose the Lord.

And Josiah did not turn himself back onto his chariot, but he attempts to fight, not paying attention to the words of Jeremiah the prophet from the mouth of the Lord.

But he made war against him in the plain of Magdous, and the rulers went down to King Josiah.

And the king said to his servants, Remove me from the battle, for I am very weak; and immediately his servants removed him from the line of battle.

And he went up on his second chariot, and, having been brought back to Jerusalem, he changed his life and was buried in the ancestral tomb.

And in all Judea they mourned Josiah, and Jeremiah the prophet lamented for Josiah, and the leaders with the women were lamenting him until this day, and this was given forth to be done always for all the race of Israel

Now these things are written in the book of the histories concerning the kings of Judea, and each matter done of the deeds of Josiah and of his glory and of his understanding in the law of the Lord, both the things formerly done by him and the things now have been recorded in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

And those of the nation, having taken Jechoniah son of Josiah, made him king in place of Josiah his father, being twenty-three years old.

And he reigned in Judah and Jerusalem three months, and the king of Egypt restored him to reign in Jerusalem.

And he fined the nation one hundred talents of silver and one talent of gold.

And the king of Egypt set up King Jehoiakim, his brother, king of Judea and Jerusalem

And Joakim bound the nobles, and Zarion his brother, having seized him, he brought up out of Egypt.

Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he reigned over Judea and Jerusalem, and he did the evil before the Lord.

And Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon went up against him, and binding him in a bronze chain, led him away to Babylon.

And from the sacred vessels of the Lord, Nebuchadnezzar took and carried away and set them up in his temple in Babylon.

And the things recorded concerning him and his uncleanness and impiety are written in the book of the times of the kings.

And Jehoiakim his son reigned in his place, for when he was appointed he was eighteen years old.

And he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem, and he did the evil thing before the Lord

And after a year Nebuchadnezzar sent and carried him over to Babylon, together with the sacred vessels of the Lord

And he appointed Zedekiah king of Judea and Jerusalem, Zedekiah being twenty-one years old, and he reigned eleven years

And he did the evil thing before the Lord, and he was not ashamed because of the words spoken by Jeremiah the prophet from the mouth of the Lord.

And having sworn by King Nabuchodonosor by the name of the Lord, he acted falsely in oath, and he rebelled, and having hardened his neck and his heart, he transgressed the laws of the Lord God of Israel.

And the leaders of the people and of the priests also committed much impiety and acted lawlessly beyond all the uncleannesses of all the nations, and they defiled the holy place of the Lord, the one being sanctified in Jerusalem.

And the God of their fathers sent by his angel to call them back, because he had spared them and his tent.

But they mocked his messengers, and on the day when the Lord spoke, they were ridiculing his prophets, until, being angered at his nation because of the impieties, he commanded to bring up against them the kings of the Chaldeans

These killed their young men with the sword all around their holy temple, and they did not spare young man and virgin and old man and younger, but he gave all into their hands.

And all the holy vessels of the Lord, the great and the small, and the chests of the Lord, and the royal storehouses, having taken up, they carried to Babylon.

And they burned the house of the Lord and broke down the walls of Jerusalem and burned their towers with fire

and they finished bringing to nothing all her glorious things, and he led away the survivors by the sword to Babylon

And they were servants to him and to his sons until the Persians reigned, so as to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah.

until the land had enjoyed its sabbaths, all the time of its desolation it shall keep sabbath, until the completion of seventy years
