And Solomon said, You did great mercy with your servant David my father, as he walked before you in truth and in righteousness and in uprightness of heart with you, and you kept for him this great mercy, to give his son upon his throne, as this day is.

And you shall give to your servant a heart to hear and to discern your people in righteousness, to understand between good and evil, for who shall be able to judge this your heavy people?

And the Lord said to him, Because you asked this matter from me and did not ask for yourself many days and did not ask wealth nor did you ask the lives of your enemies, but asked for yourself understanding to listen to judgment,

And Solomon woke up, and behold, it was a dream, and he rose and came to Jerusalem and stood before the altar, which was before the ark of the covenant of the Lord in Zion, and he brought up whole burnt offerings and made peace offerings, and he made a great feast for himself and for all his servants.

And the woman whose was the living son answered and said to the king, because her womb was troubled over her son, and she said, In me, lord, give the child to her, and by no means put him to death; and this woman said, Let him be neither to me nor to her; divide him.
