And he sat three years, and there was no war between Syria and between Israel.

And it came to pass in the third year that Jehoshaphat king of Judah went down to the king of Israel.

And the king of Israel said to his servants, Do you know that Ramoth Gilead is ours, and we are silent, to take it from the hand of the king of Syria?

And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Will you go up with us to Ramoth Gilead to war? And Jehoshaphat said, As I am, so also are you; as my people, so your people; as my horses, so your horses.

And Jehoshaphat king of Judah said to the king of Israel, Inquire now today of the Lord.

And the king of Israel gathered all the prophets, about four hundred men, and the king said to them, Shall I go up to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I hold back? And they said, Go up, and the Lord will surely give into the hand of the king.

And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord, and we shall inquire of the Lord through him?

And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, There is still one man to inquire of the Lord through him, and I have hated him, because he does not speak good concerning me, but only evil, Micaiah son of Imlah. And Jehoshaphat king of Judah said, Let not the king say thus.

And the king of Israel called one eunuch and said, Quickly, Micaiah son of Iemla.

And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah were sitting, each on his throne, armed in the gates of Samaria, and all the prophets were prophesying before them.

And Zedekiah son of Chaanan made for himself iron horns, and he said, Thus says the Lord: With these you shall gore Syria until it is finished.

And all the prophets were prophesying thus, saying, Go up to Ramoth Gilead, and it will prosper, and the Lord will give the king of Syria into your hand.

And the messenger who had gone to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Behold now, all the prophets are speaking with one mouth good things concerning the king; so now, do you also be like one of these in your words, and speak good things.

And Micaiah said, As the Lord lives, what the Lord may say to me, these things I will speak.

And he came to the king, and the king said to him, Michaias, shall I go up to Ramoth-Gilead for war, or shall I refrain? And he said, Go up, and the Lord will prosper, and will give it into the hand of the king.

And the king said to him, How many times must I adjure you that you speak to me the truth in the name of the Lord?

And Micaiah said, I did not see all Israel scattered on the mountains like a flock for which there is no shepherd; and the Lord said, Let not Lord this man turn back each to his house in peace.

And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Did I not say to you, This one does not prophesy good to me, but only evil?

And Michaiah said, Not so; not I. Hear the word of the Lord: not so I saw the Lord God of Israel sitting upon his throne, and all the army of heaven was standing around him, on his right and on his left.

And the Lord said, Who will deceive Ahab king of Israel, and he will go up and fall in Ramoth Gilead? And this one said thus, and that one said thus.

And a spirit came out and stood before the Lord and said, I will deceive him; and the Lord said to him, By what?

And he said, I will go out and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, You will deceive, and indeed you will prevail; go out and do thus.

And now, behold, the Lord has put a false spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and the Lord has spoken evil against you.

And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah came near and struck Micaiah on the jaw and said, Which spirit of the Lord was it that spoke in you?

And Micaiah said, Behold, you shall see on that day when you enter an inner room, an inner room, to hide yourself.

And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah and turn him back to Emēr the ruler of the city and to Joash the son of the king

Put this man in prison and feed him bread of affliction and water of affliction until I return in peace.

And Micaiah said, If you return, returning, in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me.

And the king of Israel went up, and Jehoshaphat king of Judah with him, to Ramoth Gilead

And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I will disguise myself and enter into the battle; and you put on my clothing. And the king of Israel disguised himself and entered into the battle.

And the king of Syria commanded the commanders of his chariots, thirty-two, saying, Do not fight with small or great, but only with the king of Israel alone.

And it happened, when the commanders of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat king of Judah, that they themselves said, This is the king of Israel; and they surrounded him to fight; and Jehoshaphat cried out.

And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw that this was not the king of Israel, that they turned away from him

And one drew the bow skillfully and struck the king of Israel between the lung and between the breastplate, and he said to his charioteer, Turn your hands back and lead me out from the battle, because I am wounded.

And the battle was turned on that day, and the king was standing on the chariot opposite Syria from morning until evening, and the blood from the wound was pouring into the hollow of the chariot, and he died in the evening, and the blood of the turning out was going out as far as the hollow of the chariot

And the herald stood at the setting of the sun, saying, Each one to his own city and to his own land.

saying, The king is dead. And they came to Samaria and buried the king in Samaria.

And they washed the chariot at the fountain of Samaria, and the swine licked up the blood, and the harlots bathed in the blood, according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke.

And the rest of the words of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house that he built, and all the cities that he made, are not these things written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

And Ahab slept with his fathers, and Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.

And Jehoshaphat son of Asa reigned over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel he reigned

Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Azuba daughter of Shilhi.

And he walked in all the way of Asa his father; he did not turn aside from it, to do what was upright in the eyes of the Lord.

Only the high places the people did not take away still; they were sacrificing and burning incense on the high places

And Jehoshaphat was at peace with the king of Israel.

And the rest of the words of Jehoshaphat and his mighty acts, as many as he did, behold, are not these written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Judah?

And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father, and Jehoram his son reigned in his place.

And Ahaziah son of Ahab reigned over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned over Israel two years.

And he did what was evil before the Lord, and he walked in the way of Ahab his father and in the way of Jezebel his mother and in the sins of the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin.

And he served the Baals and worshiped them and provoked the Lord God of Israel to anger according to all the things that had been done before him.
