And Jonathan spoke good things about David to Saul his father and said to him, let not the king sin against your servant David, because he has not sinned against you, and his deeds are very good.

And he put his life in his hand and struck the foreigner, and the Lord wrought a great deliverance; and all Israel saw and rejoiced. And why do you sin against innocent blood, to put David to death without cause?

And it happened in that night, and Saul sent messengers into the house of David to watch him, to put him to death in the morning. And Melchol his wife reported to David, saying, If you do not save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be put to death.

And Saul said to Melchol, Why have you deceived me so, and sent away my enemy, and he has escaped? And Melchol said to Saul, He himself said, Send me away, else I will put you to death.

And David fled and was delivered, and he comes to Samuel in Armathaim and reports to him all that Saul had done to him. And David and Samuel went and sat in Navath in Ramah.

And Saul sent messengers to seize David; and they saw the assembly of the prophets, and Samuel was standing appointed over them, and the spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they prophesied

And Saul was angered with anger, and he himself went to Armathaim, and he comes as far as the well of the threshing-floor that is in Sephi, and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And they said, Behold, at Naioth in Ramah.
