And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants to put David to death, and Jonathan son of Saul greatly favored David.

And Jonathan reported to David, saying, Saul seeks to put you to death; so guard yourself tomorrow in the morning, and hide, and sit hidden.

And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you may be there, and I will speak about you to my father, and I will see what it may be, and I will tell you.

And Jonathan spoke good things about David to Saul his father and said to him, let not the king sin against your servant David, because he has not sinned against you, and his deeds are very good.

And he put his life in his hand and struck the foreigner, and the Lord wrought a great deliverance; and all Israel saw and rejoiced. And why do you sin against innocent blood, to put David to death without cause?

And Saul listened to Jonathan’s voice, and Saul swore, saying, As the Lord lives, he shall not die.

And Jonathan called David and reported to him all these words, and Jonathan brought David in to Saul, and he was before him as yesterday and the third day.

And the war again arose against Saul, and David prevailed and fought against the Philistines, and struck among them a very great blow, and they fled from before him.

And a bad spirit of God came upon Saul, and he himself was sleeping in the house, with a spear in his hand, and David was playing with his hands

And Saul sought to strike the spear into David, and David withdrew from before Saul, and he struck the spear into the wall, and David departed and escaped

And it happened in that night, and Saul sent messengers into the house of David to watch him, to put him to death in the morning. And Melchol his wife reported to David, saying, If you do not save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be put to death.

And Melchol brought David down through the window, and he went away and fled, and he was saved

And Melchol took the teraphim and put them on the bed, and she put a goat’s liver at his head, and covered them with a garment.

And Saul sent messengers to seize David, and they say he is being troubled.

And Saul sends to David, saying, Bring him on the bed to me, to put him to death.

And the messengers come, and behold, the teraphim were on the bed, and a goats’ liver at his head

And Saul said to Melchol, Why have you deceived me so, and sent away my enemy, and he has escaped? And Melchol said to Saul, He himself said, Send me away, else I will put you to death.

And David fled and was delivered, and he comes to Samuel in Armathaim and reports to him all that Saul had done to him. And David and Samuel went and sat in Navath in Ramah.

And it was reported to Saul, saying, Behold, David is in Naioth in Ramah.

And Saul sent messengers to seize David; and they saw the assembly of the prophets, and Samuel was standing appointed over them, and the spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they prophesied

And it was reported to Saul, and he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied; and Saul added to send a third group of messengers, and they also prophesied.

And Saul was angered with anger, and he himself went to Armathaim, and he comes as far as the well of the threshing-floor that is in Sephi, and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And they said, Behold, at Naioth in Ramah.

And he went from there to Naioth in Ramah, and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he went on prophesying until his coming into Naioth in Ramah

And he stripped off his clothes and prophesied before them, and fell naked all that day and all that night; therefore they said, Is Saul also among the prophets?
