And Saul said to the one carrying his gear, Draw your sword and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised men come and thrust me through and mock me. But the one carrying his gear was not willing, for he feared greatly. And Saul took the sword and fell upon it.
And the men of Israel who were beyond the valley and those who were beyond the Jordan saw that the men of Israel had fled and that Saul and his sons were dead, and they abandoned their cities and fled, and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.
And they turned him back and stripped off his armor, and they sent it into the land of the Philistines all around, proclaiming good news to their idols and to their people.
And every man of valor arose and went all night, and they took the body of Saul and the body of Jonathan his son from the wall of Beth-shan, and they bring them to Jabesh and burn them there
