And Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and to the princes of Judah, those gathered in Jerusalem from before Shishak, and he said to them, Thus says the Lord: You abandoned me, and I also will abandon you into the hand of Shishak.

And when the Lord saw that they were humbled, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They were humbled; I will not destroy them, but I will give them as a little for salvation, and my wrath shall not drip out in Jerusalem.

And Shishak king of Egypt went up and took the treasures that were in the house of the Lord and the treasures that were in the house of the king; he took all things, and he took the golden shields which Solomon had made.

And Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and he reigned; and Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, in the city which the Lord chose to call his name there, from all the tribes of the sons of Israel; and the name of his mother was Naamah the Ammonitess.

And the words of Rehoboam, the first and the last, are they not behold, written in the words of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer, and his acts, and Rehoboam waged war with Jeroboam all the days
