And at the end of years he went down to Ahab in Samaria, and Ahab sacrificed for him many sheep and calves, and for the people with him, and he enticed him to go up with him to Ramoth of Gilead.
And Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Will you go with me to Ramoth of Gilead? And he said to him, As I am, so are you, and as your people are, so is my people, with you to war.
And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Inquire now today of the Lord.
And the king of Israel gathered the four hundred men of the prophets and said to them, Should I go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or should I refrain? And they said, Go up, and God will give it into the hand of the king.
And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here yet a prophet of the Lord, and we shall seek from him?
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, There is still one man to inquire of the Lord through him, and I hate him, because he is not prophesying concerning me for good, because all his days are for evil; this is Micaiah son of Iemla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king speak thus.
And the king of Israel called one eunuch and said, Quickly, Micaiah son of Iemla.
And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah were sitting, each on his throne, and clothed in robes, sitting in the open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
And Zedekiah son of Hanana made for himself iron horns, and he said, Thus says the Lord: With these you shall gore Syria until it is brought to an end.
And all the prophets were prophesying thus, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and you shall prosper, and the Lord will give it into the hand of the king.
And the angel who had gone to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Behold, the prophets have spoken good things concerning the king with one mouth; and let your words now be like one of theirs, and you shall speak good things.
And Micaiah said, As the Lord lives, whatever God may say to me, that I will speak.
And he came to the king, and the king said to him, Michaias, shall I go up to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I refrain? And he said, Go up, and you shall prosper, and they shall be given into your hands.
And the king said to him, How many times must I adjure you not to speak to me except truth in the name of the Lord?
And he said, I saw Israel scattered in the mountains, like sheep for which there is no shepherd; and the Lord said, They have no leader; let each one return to his house in peace.
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not say to you that he does not prophesy good concerning me, but only evil?
And he said, Not thus. Hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven was standing from his right and from his left.
And the Lord said, Who will deceive Ahab king of Israel, and he will go up and fall in Ramoth-gilead? And this one said thus, and this one said thus.
And the spirit went out and stood before the Lord and said, I will deceive him. And the Lord said, By what?
And he said, I will go out and I will be a false spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, You will deceive, and you will be able; go out and do so.
And now behold, the Lord has put a false spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets, and the Lord has spoken evil against you.
And Zedekiah son of Chanan came near and struck Micaiah on the jaw and said to him, By what way did the spirit of the Lord pass from me to speak to you?
And Micaiah said, Behold, you will see in that day when you shall enter chamber to chamber to hide yourself.
And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah and turn him back to Amon the governor of the city and to Joash the son of the king.
And you shall say, Thus says the king: Put this man in the house of custody, and let him eat bread of affliction and water of affliction until I return in peace.
And Micaiah said, If by turning you shall surely return in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me. Hear, all peoples.
And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself and enter into the battle, and you put on my clothing. And the king of Israel disguised himself and entered into the battle.
And the king of Syria commanded the commanders of the chariots with him, saying, Do not fight with the small and with the great, but only with the king of Israel.
And it came to pass, when the commanders of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they also said, It is the king of Israel, and they surrounded him to fight; and Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord saved him, and God turned them away from him.
And it came to pass when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, they turned away from him.
And a man drew a bow at random and struck the king of Israel between the lung and between the breastplate, and he said to the charioteer, Turn your hand back and lead me out of the battle, for I am in pain.
And the battle was turned back on that day, and the king of Israel was standing on the chariot until evening, opposite Syria, and he died as the sun was going down.
