And after these things the sons of Moab and the sons of Ammon, and with them from the Minaians, came against Jehoshaphat for war.

And they came and reported to Jehoshaphat, saying, A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria, and behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar; this is En-gedi.

And he feared, and Jehoshaphat set his face to seek the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

And Judah was assembled to seek the Lord, and out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.

And Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah in Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the court of the new one.

And he said, O Lord, the God of our fathers, are not you God in heaven, and you rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in your hand is power of dominion, and there is none to withstand you?

Are not you the Lord, who destroyed those inhabiting this land from before your people Israel, and gave it to the seed of Abraham your beloved forever?

And they dwelt in it and built in it a sanctuary for your name, saying

If evils come upon us, sword, judgment, death, famine, we shall stand before this house and before you, because your name is upon this house, and we shall cry out to you from the affliction, and you will hear and save.

And now, behold, the sons of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, into whom you did not give Israel to pass through when they came out from the land of Egypt, but they turned aside from them and did not destroy them.

And now, behold, they are undertaking to come against us, to drive us out from our inheritance which you gave us.

Lord, our God, will you not judge among them, for there is not in us strength to stand against this great multitude that has come upon us, and we do not know what we should do to them, but our eyes are upon you.

And all Judah was standing before the Lord, and their little children, and their wives.

And upon Uzziel son of Zechariah, of the sons of Benaiah, of the sons of Eliel, of the sons of Mattaniah the Levite, of the sons of Asaph, the spirit of the Lord came upon him in the assembly

And he said, Hear, all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: thus says the Lord to you, Do not fear and do not be dismayed because of the face of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

Tomorrow go down against them. Behold, they are coming up by the ascent of Asas, and you will find them at the end of the wadi of the wilderness of Jeriel.

It is not for you to fight in these things; understand and see the salvation of the Lord with you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not fear nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out to meet them, and the Lord is with you.

And Jehoshaphat bowed his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord to worship the Lord

And the Levites rose up, from the sons of Kohath and from the sons of Korah, to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice, to the height

And they rose early in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. And as they were going out, Jehoshaphat stood and cried out and said, Hear me, Judah and you who dwell in Jerusalem: trust in the Lord your God, and you shall be trusted; trust in his prophet, and you shall prosper.

And he took counsel with the people and appointed singers and praisers to give thanks and to praise the holy things, when going out before the force; and they were saying, Give thanks to the Lord, for his mercy is forever.

And when they began the praise, the confession of him, the Lord gave the sons of Ammon, against Moab and Mount Seir, to fight against those who had come out against Judah, and they were routed

And the sons of Ammon and Moab rose up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, to utterly destroy and to exterminate them; and when they had finished with the inhabitants of Seir, they rose up against one another to be utterly destroyed.

And Judah came upon the watchtower of the wilderness, and he looked, and saw the multitude, and behold, all were dead, fallen on the ground; there was none escaping.

And Jehoshaphat came, and his people, to plunder their spoils, and they found much livestock and baggage and spoils and desirable vessels, and they plundered for themselves, and there were three days of them plundering the spoils, because they were many.

And on the fourth day they were gathered together in the valley of blessing, for there they blessed the Lord; therefore they called the name of that place Valley of Blessings, until this day

And every man of Judah returned to Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat leading them, with great gladness, because the Lord had made them glad over their enemies.

And they entered into Jerusalem with harps and with lyres and with trumpets, into the house of the Lord

And there was a panic from the Lord upon all the kingdoms of the land, when they heard that the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.

And the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was at peace, and his God gave him rest all around.

And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah when he was thirty-five years old, and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother was Azuba, daughter of Shilhi.

And he walked in the ways of his father Asa and did not turn aside from doing what was right before the Lord

But the high places still existed, and still the people had not directed their heart to the Lord God of their fathers.

And the rest of the words of Jehoshaphat, the former and the latter, behold, they are written in the words of Jehu son of Hanani, who recorded the book of the kings of Israel.

And after these things Jehoshaphat king of Judah allied himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, and this one acted lawlessly.

In his doing and going to him to make ships to go to Tarshish, and he made ships in Ezion-geber.

And Eliezer son of Dodavahu from Marishah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because you allied yourself with Ahaziah, the Lord has broken your work, and your ships were broken, and they were not able to go to Tarshish.
