And Joram went out with the rulers, and all the horsemen with him, and it happened, and he rose by night and struck Edom, who was encircling him, and the rulers of the chariots, and the people fled to their tents

And there came to him a writing from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: because you did not walk in the way of Jehoshaphat your father and in the ways of Asa king of Judah

And you walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and you led Judah and those dwelling in Jerusalem into prostitution, as the house of Ahab led into prostitution, and your brothers, your father’s sons, who were better than you, you killed.

And they went up against Judah and overpowered them, and they carried off all the property they found in the house of the king, and his sons and his daughters, and there was left to him no son except Ahaziah, the youngest of his sons

And it came to pass from days to days, and as the time of the days came, after two days his belly came out with the disease, and he died in a grievous sickness, and his people did not make a burning for him, as the burning of his fathers.

He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem, and he went without praise, and he was buried in the city of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
