And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and he was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and Jehoram his son reigned in his place.

And he had brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat: six, Azariah and Jehiel and Zechariah and Azariah and Michael and Shephatiah; all these were sons of Jehoshaphat king of Judah.

And their father gave them many gifts, silver and gold and weapons, with fortified cities in Judah; and he gave the kingdom to Joram, because he was the firstborn.

And Jehoram rose over his kingdom, and he strengthened himself, and he killed all his brothers with the sword, and from among the rulers of Israel.

He was thirty-two years old when Joram became established over his kingdom, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.

And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab did, because Ahab’s daughter was his wife, and he did what was evil before the Lord.

And the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David because of the covenant which he made with David and as he said to him, to give him a lamp and to his sons all the days

In those days Edom revolted from Judah, and they made a king over themselves.

And Joram went out with the rulers, and all the horsemen with him, and it happened, and he rose by night and struck Edom, who was encircling him, and the rulers of the chariots, and the people fled to their tents

And Edom revolted from Judah until this day. Then Libnah revolted at that time from under his hand, because he had forsaken the Lord, the God of his fathers.

For he himself also made high places in the cities of Judah and led astray the inhabitants in Jerusalem and caused Judah to go astray

And there came to him a writing from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: because you did not walk in the way of Jehoshaphat your father and in the ways of Asa king of Judah

And you walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and you led Judah and those dwelling in Jerusalem into prostitution, as the house of Ahab led into prostitution, and your brothers, your father’s sons, who were better than you, you killed.

Behold, the Lord will strike you with a great plague, and in your people and in your sons and in your wives and in all your possessions.

and you shall be in a grievous sickness, in a sickness of the belly, until your belly comes out with the sickness day after day

And the Lord stirred up against Joram the Philistines and the Arabs and the neighbors of the Ethiopians

And they went up against Judah and overpowered them, and they carried off all the property they found in the house of the king, and his sons and his daughters, and there was left to him no son except Ahaziah, the youngest of his sons

And after all these things the Lord struck him in his belly with a sickness for which there is no healing

And it came to pass from days to days, and as the time of the days came, after two days his belly came out with the disease, and he died in a grievous sickness, and his people did not make a burning for him, as the burning of his fathers.
