And all the people of the land took Uzziah, and he was sixteen years old, and they made him king instead of his father Amaziah.

He himself built Elath; he himself restored it to Judah after the king had slept with his fathers.

Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem; and the name of his mother was Jecoliah from Jerusalem.

And he did what was right before the Lord, according to all that Amasias his father did.

And he was seeking the Lord in the days of Zechariah, who understood in the fear of the Lord, and in his days he sought the Lord, and the Lord gave him success.

And he went out and made war against the Philistines and tore down the walls of Gath and the walls of Jabneh and the walls of Ashdod, and he built cities in Ashdod and among the Philistines

And the Lord strengthened him against the Philistines and against the Arabs dwelling on the rock and against the Meunites

And the Meunites gave gifts to Uzziah, and his name was as far as the entrance of Egypt, because he grew strong as far as upward.

And Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem, and at the gate of the corner, and at the gate of the valley, and at the corners, and he grew strong

And he built towers in the wilderness and he cut many cisterns, because he had many cattle in the Shephelah and in the plain, and vinedressers in the hill country and on Carmel, because he was a lover of the soil.

And Uzziah had forces making war and going out into battle in number, and their number was by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the judge, by the hand of Ananiah the king’s deputy.

The whole number of the heads of families, the mighty for war, was two thousand six hundred.

And with them a war force, three hundred thousand and seven thousand five hundred; these were the ones making war in the force of strength, to help the king against the adversaries.

And Uzziah prepared for them with all the force shields and spears and helmets and breastplates and bows and slings for stones

And he made in Jerusalem contrivances, contrived by an engineer, to be on the towers and on the corners, to shoot with arrows and with large stones; and their construction was heard as far away, because he was marvellously helped until he became strong.

And when he had become strong, his heart was lifted up to corrupt, and he acted unjustly against the Lord his God, and he entered into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

And Azariah the priest entered after him, and with him eighty priests of the Lord, sons of valour.

And they stood against Uzziah the king and said to him, It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the Lord, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who have been consecrated to burn incense. Go out from the sanctuary, because you have turned away from the Lord, and this will not be for you as honor from the Lord God.

And Ozias was angry, and in his hand was the censer for burning incense in the temple; and when he was enraged against the priests, leprosy rose up on his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, beside the altar of incense.

And the chief priest and the priests turned against him, and behold, he was a leper in his forehead, and they hurried him away from there, and indeed he himself hurried to go out, because the Lord had rebuked him.

And Uzziah the king was leprous until the day of his death, and in a separate house he sat, leprous, because he had been cut off from the house of the Lord; and Jotham his son was over his kingdom, judging the people of the land.

Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, the first and the last, are written by Jeshiu the prophet

And Ozias slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial of the kings, for they said, He is a leper; and Joatham his son reigned in his place.
