And a certain woman from the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband has died, and you know that your servant was one fearing the Lord, and the creditor has come to take my two sons for himself as slaves.

And Elisha said, What shall I do for you? Tell me what there is for you in the house. And she said, There is nothing for your maidservant in the house except only what oil I shall anoint myself with.

And he said to her, Come, ask for yourself vessels from outside, from all your neighbors, empty vessels; do not diminish.

And you shall go in and shut the door behind you and behind your sons, and you shall pour into these vessels, and the one that has been filled you shall remove.

And she went away from him and did so, and shut the door behind her and behind her sons; they were bringing them near to her, and she was pouring out.

until the vessels were filled, and she said to her sons, Bring yet a vessel near to me; and they said to her, There is no longer a vessel. And the oil stood still

And she came and reported to the man of God and said, Elisha, come here and sell the oil, and you shall pay your debts, and you and your sons shall live on the remaining oil.

And it happened one day that Elisha passed over into Shunem, and there was there a great woman, and she constrained him to eat bread; and it happened, from the time of his entering in sufficiently often, he turned aside to eat there.

And the woman said to her husband, Behold now, I know that this man of God is holy, who passes by us continually.

Let us now make for him a small upper room on the roof, and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a chair, and a lampstand; and it shall be, when he comes in to us, that he will turn aside there.

And it happened one day that he went in there and turned aside into the upper room and lay down there

And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite woman to me. And he called her, and she stood before him.

And he said to him, say now to her, Behold, you have troubled us with all this trouble; what is it necessary to do for you? Is there a word for you to the king or to the commander of the army? And she said, I dwell among my people.

And he said, What must be done for her? And Gehazi his servant said, And indeed she has no son, and her husband is old.

And he called her, and she stood at the door.

And Elisha said to her, At this time, when the season is such, about the time of life, you shall be embracing a son. And she said, No, my lord, do not deceive your servant.

And the woman conceived in the womb and bore a son at this time, as the living time was, as Elisha spoke to her.

And the boy grew, and it happened, when the boy went out to his father, to the reapers.

And he said to his father, My head, my head. And he said to the boy, Carry him to his mother.

And he carried him to his mother, and he lay on her knees until noon, and he died.

And she brought him up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut him in against him and went out.

And she called her husband and said, Send me, please, one of the boys and one of the donkeys, and I will run to the man of God and return.

And she said, Why are you going to him today? It is not new moon nor sabbath. And she said, Peace.

And she saddled the donkey and said to her young servant, Go, proceed; do not restrain me from mounting, because if I say to you

Come, and you shall go and come to the man of God at Mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when Elisha saw her coming, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, that Shunammite woman.

Now run to meet her, and you shall say, Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child? And she said, It is well.

And she came to Elisha at the mountain and grasped his feet, and Gehazi drew near to thrust her away; and Elisha said, Let her go, for her soul is in anguish within her, and the Lord has hidden it from me and has not announced it to me.

And she said, Did I ask for a son from my lord? Did I not say, Do not deceive me?

And Elisha said to Gehazi, Gird up your loins, and take my staff in your hand, and go; for if you find a man, you shall not bless him, and if a man blesses you, you shall not answer him; and you shall lay my staff on the face of the child.

And the mother of the child said, As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, if I leave you. And Elisha arose and went after her.

And Gehazi went on before her and put the staff on the face of the child, but there was no voice and there was no hearing, and he returned to meet him and reported to him, saying, The child was not raised up.

And Elisha entered into the house, and behold, the little child was dead, lying on his bed.

And Elisha entered into the house and shut the door behind the two of them, and he prayed to the Lord

And he went up and lay upon the child and put his mouth upon his mouth and his eyes upon his eyes and his hands upon his hands, and he bent himself upon him, and the flesh of the child became warm.

And he turned back and walked in the house, here and there, and went up and bent over the child seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

And Elisha cried out to Gehazi and said, Call this Shunammite woman. And he called her, and she came in to him, and Elisha said, Take your son.

And the woman came in and fell at his feet and bowed down to the ground, and she took her son and went out.

And Elisha returned to Gilgal, and the famine was in the land, and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him. And Elisha said to his servant, Set on the large pot, and boil a boiled dish for the sons of the prophets.

And one went out into the field to gather arioth, and he found a vine in the field and gathered from it a wild gourds-full, his garment full, and he threw it into the pot of the stew, because they did not know it.

And he poured out for the men to eat, and it came to pass, while they were eating from the stew, behold, they cried out and said, Death in the pot, man of God, and they were not able to eat.

And he said, Take flour and cast it into the pot; and Elisha said to Gehazi the servant, Pour out to the people, and let them eat. And there was no longer any harmful thing in the pot.

And a man came through from Baal-shalisha and brought to the man of God twenty barley loaves of firstfruits and fresh grain, and he said, Give to the people, and let them eat.

And his servant said, What shall I set this before a hundred men? And he said, Give to the people, and let them eat, for thus says the Lord: They shall eat and leave over.

And they ate and left over, according to the word of the Lord
