And Elisha said, Hear the word of the Lord: Thus says the Lord, about this time tomorrow a measure of fine flour for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gates of Samaria.

And the officer on whose hand the king leaned answered Elisha and said, Behold, if the Lord should make windows in heaven, will this word not be so? And Elisha said, Behold, you shall see with your eyes, but from there you shall not eat.

And four men were leprous at the entrance of the city, and a man said to his neighbor, Why are we sitting here until we die?

If we say, Let us enter into the city, and the famine is in the city, and we will die there; and if we sit here, and we will die; and now come, and let us fall into the camp of Syria. If they keep us alive, and we shall live; and if they put us to death, and we shall die.

And they rose in the darkness to enter into the camp of Syria, and they came into a part of the camp of Syria, and behold, there is no man there.

And the Lord made the camp of Syria hear a sound of chariot and a sound of horse and a sound of a great force, and each man said to his brother, Now the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Egypt to come against us

And they arose and fled in the darkness and left their tents and their horses and their donkeys in the camp, as it is, and they fled for their life

And these lepers entered as far as a part of the camp and entered into one tent and ate and drank and took from there silver and gold and clothing and went and returned and entered into another tent and took from there and went and hid it

And a man said to his neighbor, We are not doing so; this day is a day of good news, and we are silent and remain until the light of the morning, and we will find guilt. And now come, and let us go in and report to the house of the king.

And they entered and shouted to the gate of the city and reported to them, saying, We entered into the camp of Syria, and behold, there is no man there and no voice of a man, but only a bound horse and a donkey, and their tents as they are.

And the gatekeepers cried out and reported it into the house of the king within.

And the king rose up by night and said to his servants, I will surely tell you what Syria has done to us. They knew that we were hungry, and they came out of the camp and hid in the field, saying, They will come out of the city, and we will seize them alive, and we will enter into the city.

And one of his servants answered and said, Let them take now five of the horses that remain, which were left here; behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that have been left; and we will send there and see.

And they took two mounted men, and the king of Israel sent after the king of Syria, saying, Come and see.

And they went after them as far as the Jordan, and behold, all the way was full of garments and utensils, which Syria had thrown away in their being terrified; and the messengers returned and reported to the king.

And the people went out and plundered the camp of Syria, and a measure of fine flour was a shekel, and two measures of barley was a shekel, according to the word of the Lord.

And the king appointed the third man on whose hand the king leaned at the gate, and the people trampled him in the gate, and he died, according as the man of God had spoken, who spoke when the messenger came down to him.

And it happened as Elisha had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, and it shall be about this hour tomorrow at the gate of Samaria.

And the captain answered Elisha and said, Behold, the Lord makes windows in the sky; shall this word be? And Elisha said, Behold, you shall see it with your eyes, but from there you shall not eat.

And it happened thus, and the people trampled him in the gate, and he died.
