And all the tribes of Israel came to David in Hebron, and they said to him, Behold, your bone and your flesh are we.

And yesterday and the third day, while Saul was king over us, you were the one bringing out and bringing in Israel, and the Lord said to you, You shall shepherd my people Israel, and you shall be for a leader over Israel.

And all the elders of Israel come to the king at Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the Lord, and they anoint David as king over all Israel

David was a son of thirty years when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

Seven years and six months he reigned in Hebron over Judah, and thirty-three years he reigned over all Israel and Judah in Jerusalem

And David and his men went to Jerusalem to the Jebusite, the one inhabiting the land, and it was said to David, You shall not enter here, because the blind and the lame resisted, saying, David shall not enter here.

And David took hold of the stronghold of Zion; this is the city of David.

And David said on that day, Let everyone striking the Jebusite lay hold with a dagger, even the lame and the blind and those hating the soul of David; therefore they will say, The blind and the lame shall not enter into the house of the Lord.

And David lived in the fortification, and this city was called the City of David, and he built the city round about from the stronghold and his house.

And David kept going, going on and becoming great, and the Lord Almighty was with him.

And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar wood and craftsmen of wood and craftsmen of stones, and they built a house for David

And David knew that the Lord had prepared him as king over Israel and that his kingdom was exalted because of his people Israel

And David took still more wives and concubines from Jerusalem, after his coming from Hebron, and there were still sons and daughters born to David.

And these are the names of those born to him in Jerusalem: Sammous and Sobab and Nathan and Solomon

and Ibhar and Elishua and Nepheg and Japhia

and Elisama and Elidae and Eliphalath

And the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over Israel, and all the Philistines went up to seek David, and David heard and went down into the stronghold.

And the foreigners came and fell together into the Valley of the Rephaim.

And David inquired by the Lord, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines, and wilt thou deliver them into my hands? And the Lord said to David, Go up, because giving over I will deliver the Philistines into your hands.

And David came from the upper breaches, and he cut down the Philistines there. And David said, The Lord has cut through my enemies, the Philistines, before me, as waters are cut through. Therefore the name of that place was called Upper Breaches.

And they leave their gods there, and David and the men who were with him took them.

And the Philistines added yet to come up, and they fell together in the valley of the giants.

And David inquired of the Lord, and the Lord said, You shall not go up to meet them; turn away from them, and you shall come upon them near the weeping-place.

And it shall be, when you hear the sound of the shutting of the grove of weeping, then you shall go down to them, because then the Lord will go out before you to strike in the war of the Philistines.

And David did as the Lord commanded him, and struck the Philistines from Gabaon as far as the land of Gazera.
