Hear this word, cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the poor and trample the needy, who say to their masters, Give us, that we may drink.

The Lord swears by his holy ones, because behold, days are coming upon you, and they shall take you away with weapons, and those with you they shall cast into boiling kettles, fiery plagues.

And I withheld from you the rain three months before the grape harvest, and I would rain on one city, and on another city I would not rain; one portion would be rained upon, and a portion upon which I would not rain on it would dry up.

I struck you with blight and with mildew; you multiplied your gardens, your vineyards, and your fig trees, and your olive trees the locust devoured; and yet you did not return to me, says the Lord.

I sent death among you in the way of Egypt and I killed your young men by the sword, with the captivity of your horses, and I brought up your camps in fire in my wrath, and yet you did not turn back to me, says the Lord

For behold, I am strengthening thunder and creating spirit and declaring to men his anointed one, making dawn and mist and treading upon the heights of the earth; the Lord God the Almighty is his name
